I have watched an supported LFC since I was a nipper. 6 years old and me da took to Anfield, but not to the Kop where he usually went because it was a standing area and i would get hurt. Citeh beat us 1-0.
That was a long time ago and although I was very young and we lost, I remember the gladiator mentality of the men in red and the defeat was not justified, but the players were fighters as was the manager.
Yesterday I witnessed a manager who admitted defeat in the first half of a match and I am ashamed.
No excuses.

It's not worth it Chesterville. There's no point getting upset about the things we can't control. Klopp doesn't have a winning mentality... or at least one that hates defeat so much. If he does he doesn't seem to show it. He loves winning as we can see from his actions, but he seems to accept defeat easily. He's more focussed on how we play than the result. Suggest we just sit back and go with the flow at the moment. Take each game one at a time and see where we are at Christmas and then at the end of the season. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41215027

Klopp got it wrong yesterday, and against a team that cost £10 billion it can be and was catastrophic. I don't think you can accuse him of surrendering, just mis managed the game. Now we have to forget about this and move onto the Seville game.

I thinks it's unfair to say he doesn't feel losing badly. I don't think anyone could get where he has without feeling a loss. But it's part of sport and maybe he just deals with it without blaming everyone else in his pressers and the like as other managers do?

But it's part of sport and maybe he just deals with it without blaming everyone else in his pressers and the like as other managers do? Maybe he does hate losing but my point is that it's obviously not enough to rile him so much, at least externally. Now if he can be like this and still win us trophies then that's great. But so far there's no sign of that. On the contrary, we've lost two finals under him. He lost his previous two finals with Dortmund as well I believe so he's got the begiining of a reputation there of not quite getting over the line. Same in the league. Everyone knows that we yearn for the title more than anything else yet we're not even close to a serious challenge it seems. No sane person would tip us for the title with the back 5 we have. About him getting where he has etc... that can probably be said about most managers in the top divisions. There's a fine but significant line between the one's that do well and the one's that do well and win. The latter have that extra edge, a little nastiness perhaps, are very sore losers etc. and have been the ones that seem to go on to win. The jury's still out on whether Klopp has what it takes.

I'm just saying that we can't say he doesn't like losing enough as we only see what he wants us to. He might be going proper mental in the dressing room and in private which I prefer than the way the likes of Wenger and Maureen and all their public moaning and blaming everyone else.
I wouldn't read too much into his final losses either. He lost two cups to Bayern and one to City, all better teams than he had (he also beat Bayern to one). The others are teams he could've beaten but anything can happen in cup games. Maybe he is a bit too nice ultimately but I think it's more about the way his teams play than anything else.

It's obvioulsy not a black and white thing, though I don't think it's a calculated act on his part to be joking and smiling at the post match interview whilst being really angry inside. When he's on the touchline he can't control his emotions and he's often explained that he means no offence to 4th officials etc... it's just that he's a passionate guy who expresses himself. So how come he can control himslef in an interview less than 30 mins or so after getting thumped 5-0?
Of course, no one likes losing. But it just seems that losing doesn't hurt him as much as winning gives him pleasure. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it might be the difference between constantly missing out and winning trophies.
Having said the above, it may be a good strategy not to go bezerk on the back of one heavy defeat. Stay cool and calm. Be philosophical and trat it as a freak. That's fine as long as we don't see something similar again.
As for being beaten by better teams in his previous finals, that's not a good excuse. On that basis it's fine if we never win anything as somwhere along the line we're always going to encounter better teams. A lesser team should be able to outsmart a better team from time to time and achieve a positive result including in finals.

what does seem to be certain is that he's a decent, open, honest, warm and obviously a humorous character. see his post match interview: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/t...-after-11142707gives full answers; didn't know we could appeal the red card; didn't know we play Weds not Tuesday; his reaction being asked about Coutinho; said he doesn't think about being 'encouraged' as he expects such performances etc. great.

I'm sure he hates losing, like all managers do, it reflects badly on them, they all have ego's and that competitiveness, or they would not have got to the top managing in the PL.
What did surprise me yesterday is it appeared Klopp made choices to withdraw/save players like Salah, who had been our biggest threat to City in the first half, even with his poor finishing he was causing them lots of problems , he had already got Otamendi a yellow card and had a good chance of getting another, we all know refs like to equal out sending offs, especially if there is allot of doubt on the first one.
I don't think it's anything to do with Klopps desire to win, it was purely down to Mane missing for 3 games, he didn't want to risk Salah getting injured/sent off and preferred to rest him as we were down to 10 men, 2-0 down, at a likely PL champions home, who were starting to dominate the game against our 10 men and playing well, I can understand the decision but it does not sit well with me, I can't imagine a Souness or McMahon putting up with that, we missed a real leader on the pitch yesterday.
What the game highlighted is what we all knew, our defence is far too weak, we weakened the team before kick off by playing Klavan, Klavan should not be third choice, he's a fourth choice emergency at best, we had plenty of time to bring in a third choice CB if we couldn't get VvD, we let one of our best CB leave in Sakho for nearly £30 million, I cannot understand why we did not buy a replacement, albeit temporary replacement until we get VvD if Klopp is so confident he will land his man eventually, that replacement would still be third or fourth choice when we get VvD, as we have let Sakho and Lucas go.
