This is not a sign of ambition. He will not, surely, be ahead of many of our current squad players so why pay that much. Why does he wish to come to Liverpool, I wonder? Just don't see how he is better buy than someone like Lanzini - if we think Klopp can really develop young players. If we purchase Lemar and Ox and no cb, the window will look even more bizarre. I assume our willingness to spend money means that Coutinho is actually leaving after all.

We have agreed a 35m fee for the Ox, however, I wonder if he would accept to come to us after rejecting 180k wages as I don't think we would pay that much. Him coming I think would mean Coutinho leaving. I think it would be fine, however, we also need a CB.

Ox, Chambers & Walcott were together at Southampton. I knew about Walcott. IIRC we were in the frame for him all those years ago, but he chose the Gunners over us.

He wants to play for Liveepool and always has and I'm happy we got a player that WANTS to play for us like VVD wants to unlike a Brazilian who doesn't.

He turned down £180,000 a week at arsenal £180,000 at Chelsea.
He's on £125,000 at Liverpool. He's not gonna be poor but it's nice to see players do that.

I was happy with wijnaldum. Not fussed about the Ox. But if he's willing to reject Chelsea and take a pay cut I'm glad he's here.
