Carra's thoughts.
Ours too I suspect. eek

"All the other players on the list are top strikers in the Premier League. For Mane to be there, it shows his impact.

"If you compare him to Coutinho, who is a fantastic player which is why Barcelona want him, but if he carries on the way he is going, the top clubs around Europe will be looking at him because he has been a revelation since he came in."

He does seem to have that consistency that Coutinho lacks. If he has another season like last I think we may see some interest. Great buy

All good players will be wanted by all good teams. We just have to stand firm to keep them as with Coutinho (so far!).

If we knuckle down and built a proper team then i don't mind losing one every season however we have a crap team and only 3 quality players which is not good enough. Even top clubs like bayern are losing stars but they have a proper team so they always cope with departurs.

To be fair even the great Liverpool teams of the 70,s and 80,s lost players to top teams in Europe Keegan and rush spring to mind it's perhaps an indication you are doing something right it's when you are leaking players to other English teams it's time to worry

Utd lose players to Madrid. Barca lose players to PSG.

We will lose players. It happens. But they always get replaced. Let's enjoy him for the next 2 years at least

Yes, spot on there Snakeye, it's about having that critical mass of top quality in your squad, that's what we need to build, but have failed to even attempt it, with the moneyball approach taking precedence. When you have that critical mass of quality, even losing your best player is not a disaster, but when you don't have it losing your best player is an absolute disaster, sufficient to knock you back five or six places in the league, from where you have to start building all over again. Classic moneyball stuff!

Is it that simple? Monaco won the French League last season, got to the semi final's of the Champions League and they've lost nearly half their team.

Ronaldo left Man Utd after they'd just won the League and European Cup?

Juventus have been dominating Italian football for a long time and have got to two European Cup finals lately, yet they lost Bonucci, to AC Milan who have been struggling?

A mere stepping stone now seemingly.

How can we re-build a great team, if all the 'great' players keep wanting to leave for barca?
Doin' me swede in it is. eek
