the players they have just signed are only of the same quality to what we have bee signing so are we on the same footing us them, don't forget even though we have signed the same players FSG are still paying for the same calibre of player now as when they first took over, at least PC new owner has only been at the Club since February and is just starting so there is an excuse to build slowly...top players have as much chance of going to PC as they are to us...unless ofcorse there about 50 odd years of age and remember us being a big club which won trophies then they might choose us... No surprise you're sticking up for your club. Maybe they'll finish ahead of us now and then but I don't think they'd ever overtake us. why not? We overtook Everton because we won trophies, why won't Everton win more trophies than us,,they are showing the right sort of ambition by signing better players than they had before and there is a new stadium on the way which is better than our extra tier we built... The way you are talking clubs who are where they are now will never be overtaken...next 20 years can't Man City become bigger than Unitef if United don't win anything and City win 8 leagues and 4 European Cups, can't Stoke Cirrbevome bigger than Villa if Villa stay in the first division...just don't understand ure logic Players come for money in the main and then trophies, but in most cases the two are synonymous. They don't come to play in new stadiums. Building a new stadium is a step in the right direction for your club, no doubt. You will Bridge the gap in income but not to a degree where you'll overtake us. You're currently 200M short of what we make. It would be through good recruitment where you'd need to start, you have bought some good to average players to replace the second highest goal scorer in the league. That can't be underestimated, especially when your next highest scored 5 goals. Spurs have been the best at recruiting lately, given their budget they're punching above their weight. If they don't win something this season It's quite likely their better players will push for a move elsewhere. It's already starting with Rose's comments. Tottenham simply can't match United/City in wages. Liverpool are in a similar situation to Everton, though coming from a higher level. I don't expect us to ever overtake United (unless we get a sheikh). That's why I have no problem with these billionaires coming in and shaking things up. big clubs win more and then attract more fans and generate more revenue and buy better players and then win more, a virtuous circle. You could argue the sugar daddy thing has mixed things up and made things more competitive at the top. You could argue its been good for football in some ways. For the segment of the UK population that dont support United, there are now more teams who can win it. Or on a European level, if PSG challenge Madrid and Barca, in some ways I say good luck to them. At the end of the day, to me they are both a depressing reality about modern football, which is that it is all about money. Id much rather spend my time raging against that than argue about whether some massive marketing-based corporation is more noble than some other oil baron.

Spango may be a wum, but he does speak truth to power for the most part, and that is invaluable on this forum as a makeweight to group-think. There are ostriches on here that would prefer to keep their heads buried deep in the sand, to which I say: let sleeping Ostrich's lie, but personally I prefer to see who might be creeping up on me.

Well Everton won't be sneaking up on anyone buying a load of average players and selling their best. Except maybe the likes of Stoke or West Brom. I'm not sure the blue stripe stadium will help much either.
But if that's your idea of intent and ambition then fine.

I don't think they bury their heads, they give reasons for their thinking, and valid ones. Spangles posts are designed to wind people up.

But if that's your idea of intent and ambition then fine. you really are away with the fairies aren't you to dismiss Everton so lightly...I come from the City unlike you so I will always have mt finger closer to the pulse than DC supporter like your goid self that's not havin a go it's a fact, and I am telling you Everton are moving in the right circles to overtake a Liverpool in years to come given both Clubs present trajectory.... You keep harping on to the players Everton have signed yes they are not world beaters they are only exactly the same calibre of player we have signed since FSG arrived, you have to start off with foundations and that's what Everton are doing, they are building slowly. They are building a new stadium in the best area of Liverpool down by the waterfront in the Liverpool Waters project, have a look at what the Liverpool waters project involves if you don't believe me, the commonwealth games bid is going to evolve around it, all we do is add an extra tier to an existing stand here's the proof of vision from owners. I am not saying Everton will be alongside City, Chelsea or United but they can certainly be up there or ahead of us who are feel are a club on decline trading on past reputation, they have already corbored the local supporters market in the city... Don't mistake coming from Liverpool as being knowledgable as you quite clearly know fukk all. So you can jog on with your veiled out of town jibes and concentrate on watching your boys tonight.

They'll be paying 9-12 million a year for this stadium for the next 30 years which is subject to increase. Everton will have to provide a rent which will allow LCC SPV to pay its rent to the Funder and to pay an annual Security fee to LCC, thereby safeguarding the Council from any commercial risk from the venture. Look at Arsenal, with a better team, better manager, less competitive league (at the time) and a cheaper stadium project. They went backwards.

Team plays you will usually hear rumours or have sightings before our fellow DC fans...can't believe you don't understand this....surely your pulling my leg my friend... a lfc is an lfc fan wherever he may come from im from lpool and have no problem whatsoever with fans who support the club from anywhere over the world thats what top supported sides have or you could be a bitter and have your biggest fan base in rhyl which also is no problem to me.
