How can you say we can still get top targets? How long have we been cocking about with them?

It's time to move on and just because you move on to alternatives doesn't mean you have to lower the quality of your targets.

We need to sort out the defence and that isn't something you can just do by changing or buying one big name player. If we are lacking goals due to quality(which we aren't), adding that additional world class player can make a big difference. Defending, however, is a collective effort. You can have the best centre backs in the world but if your team mates dont track their man or screw up their clearances then it won't make a difference. That's not to say Matip and Lovren weren't donkey crap against Watford because they were, but Firminho, TAA and wijnaldum were hugely responsible for the 3 goals we conceded. We need a benitez type specialist coach to farking organise the defence to a T.

You think Klopp wanted this to drag on???

If it was klopps way things would be fast,

Their is an internal standoff in the board room the infamous transfer commitee hasn't changed , FSG won't pay the valuation , Klopp won't move on...

Did you hear of Klopp potentially walking out ???

They seem just whispers but apparently FSG would've sold Coutinho if it was a month earlier despite klopps reluctance which would have made him walk away ,
The press conference saying " he has bosses, selling Coutinho is out of his control " this compared to initial statement of "I have the first and last say of all transfers "

Klopp also mentions he doesn't control loanees, which may suggest he has no control of any facet of transfer offers ,

It seems FSG signing Klopp was more a way to appease the fans working within strict limits regardless of increase TV revenue or +netspend , without considering klopps ambitions to take his coaching career to the next level, Klopp wants to win the EPL with or without LFC, it seems the club may be in a stand off internally ...

Can the fans push FSG to spend???

Or do we push Klopp to find a plan B???

Wouldn't you rather back the one that we can truly trust is in it for the fans???

If that means overpaying on an outlier once in a blue moon isn't that a safer bet than trusting FSG who we still cannot trust???

It is about pushing the train, not jumping on a running train.’ That is what we need here. It’s not allowed to take the history in the backpack

I'd rather us sign a top class defensive coach as a priority first. While VVD and Keita would be big improvements over lovren and wijnaldum, our set piece defending will still be horrible as our organisation is lacking and one or two new players aren't going to change anything.

Good point, well made.

It is just pure speculation on your part that there is some kind of stand off in the boardroom.

And Klopp walking out, if it's the same rubbish that WW posted on here, was from Facebook FFS!

The club as a whole fukked up the VVD deal and Klopp played his part in that so if he wanted it to go quicker he should've been whiter than white to get it done. You keep saying we should over pay but even at £50m VVD will be the most expensive CB of all time so for me that is over paying.

He's spent months chasing a midfield target that was never for sale and who's club never made any noises to the contrary. Why?

It's now time to move onto other targets. That doesn't mean that quality has to suffer. You can't tell me there isn't another CB or midfield player that wouldn't strengthen us. But the one thin g that will suffer if we don't move on is the team and how we perform and that is more my concern than any stupid internal games that may or may not be going on.

Any WC Coaches around not doing anyhting at the moment, known for their ability to organise defensively? It might rub Klopp up the wrong way but something is desparately needed to organise us. If VVD did come I still think it wouldn't solve our inability to defend a set piece!
Bring somebody in as a Consultant in the background, they don't even have to be given a title.

Do you actually want Klopp to coach the team and try to succeed ???

If in klopps mind he sees kieta and VvD as players he can add to win the league
do you honestly think that he should just give up on those targets when both haven't moved???

I'm beginning to wonder if you actually trust Klopp, if anyone deserves the Benifit of the doubt would it be Klopp or FSG???

If we could of afforded kieta & Van Dijk in normal circumstances , but considering the current circumstances you'd rather Klopp move on from top targets or atleast overpay for atleast one of top targets??? ( remember Klopp sees top targets as players to win title)

What's the point buying klopps second options when we can still get top targets ??? why can't we just pay a bit extra as the harder circumstances ???

If Barca really want Coutinho than £130m

Same applies to FSG for VvD,

If Klopp controlled the money we'd have gotten VvD, albeit overpriced , but he would be in the team ,

50m is already overpriced for VvD as it will match the record for any CB but Southampton is not interested to even talk to us, so how do you back the manager, maybe by kidnapping the player.

Just read that in Klopp’s final three seasons, Dortmund made 34 defensive errors. By contrast, Liverpool made 36 in Brendan Rodgers’ first season alone.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.
