With about 2 and a half weeks to go , we can still do some business in the transfer market to address some issues

Get a good center back ,besides Van Dyke there must be others that we can buy ?

If Coutinho wants to go and Barcelona bid over 100 million pounds let him go , bring maybe Mahrez in for about 40 million

Give Danny Ward a chance , no need to buy another goalkeeper

Your thoughts ?

Yes there's still time if the scouting has been done, however I think Klopp has talked himself into a corner and is unlikely to move on from his two choices. Despite the upbeat talk around young ward, I feel we need to sign a top class 1st choice keeper. I'd promote ward to 2nd and get rid of one if not both of the other two. We should have gone for Hart when he was available imo.

There's an argument to say if we sold Coutinho for £100+ million and invested that money in a quality CB and a quality Central MF who can break up play/support defense, the team would be much better off, we do not seem to have problems scoring goals with or without Coutinho, its the letting in goals that causes us to drop points.

Well creativity in football is paramount even against average sides but vital against the top sides ans the bus merchants. Without Coutinho where will the creativity come from? From what we hear Keita is a battling box to box defensive type midfielder, but I have yet to hear him described as creative in the Coutinho mould. I doubt we could replace what he gives us in this window if atall.

We have money for both without selling him, but seem to have difficulty in getting quality in

The point is we concede far more goals that our rivals, if we strengthen our defence we would be a much better team, we cannot regularly outscore teams, as we have seen the last few seasons, teams that challenge for the league have good defences and do not ship goals.

If we sold Coutinho and bought a very good CB and DM, that would be good business, now I don't see why we can't do that without selling Coutinho as we keep being told we have the money (based on bids for VvD & Keita).

Apparently Michael Keane had an excellent game today for Everton, a £30million English buy at CB with PL experience, we were interested and could have got him (as Burnley said they would not stand in his way), at the time he was sold we had withdrew from the VvD deal, so why did we not go in and get him? I said this at the time, bloody annoying.

The odds on us signing Naby Keita, has been cut from 6/1 to 6/4 so all hope is not lost yet. Also the VvD deal still has a chance, if those two were to go through, we could potentially live with the loss of Coutinho, much as none of us want to lose him, despite his transfer request and it's timing.

Think we should just give Keita and Van another shot, this time give them what they want or more.

Agree kp. Seems that Klopp thinks that VVD is the only man who can fix our defence though.
