Anyway Vish, how much money do you waste while you're fukkkin around trying to find your 'cheaper' alternatives?

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

I wonder if FFP is a factor here.

Let's say that Liverpool splash out and buy both VVD and Keita at £70million each, not only would that represent a huge proportion of the transfer budget (if not nearly all, surely?), not only would it more than likely raise the valuation of any other player Liverpool hold an interest in, but it could possibly mean breaching FFP rules. And after all both the the player's respective clubs are refusing to budge for less than £70million.

I think that people sometimes forget to consider all factors in regards to transfers. After all, I doubt there's an LFC fan that wouldn't want VVD in the side. Having said that, it could merely be that FSG are tight, I certainly wouldn't put it passed them.

Can you please tell me what VVD had done so far to be priced by far the most expensive defender ever?

well RfC, I've seen reports that said he's widely regarded as the best defender in the PL. That would also explain why other top clubs were in for him. Who would you recommend for that position instead, who'd be as good or better?

If I am looking to buy a defender I would rather go to look for one in Italy (De Vrij for one) and nobody even knows how he will perform after coming back from a serious injury. We had consistently have bad experiences with such cases such as Aquilani, Caroll, Benteke the few I remember.

What happened to Kjaer by the way?

That's good quality aswell I think. Probably wouldn't cost £ 70 m either.

The committee process. Does it involve determining what a player is worth based on his stats and history?
I am curious because it would completely dismiss the great players who have not been signed by major clubs. Or am I wrong again?

What do you mean? Which great player hasn't been signed by a major club when already great?

So that means going on to 2nd, 3rd, etc, etc, etc, just to get a cheaper option than our managers first choice, even when he's chosen us over the other top clubs? Not the way to support your manager or become a confirmed challenger. What business are we in here winning things or making money? We already have the resources to support our managers first choice signings, if we had the required ambition we'd be doing that, instead of forever penny pinching.
