We are poor in the transfer market and have been for years. But I'm done with caring about transfer fees since we spent £100mil on Carroll Downing Henderson and Adam.

Exactly. We could worry about all internationals as we always get some injuries from the most pointless games. We need to make sure we're covered with squad depth.

He is not going to be the only one and if both him and Mane are gone, that would probable mean 2 of our most expensive players. And we don't buy and sell whole teams in 5 years let alone 28 months.

Meaning?

He will leave for the AFCON the same time mane goes. It's every 2 years and seeing as European players miss out on a summers rest every 2 years it's not the end of the world.

I don't understand the reservations.

He's a proven international. Every club he's been at he's contributed goals and assists in abundance. On average I believe its a couple of goals/assists every three games. Last year he contributed goal/assist at 1 every 93 minutes.

He's had limited experience, in England but clearly that should mean the transition into the Premier League is easier than signing someone who'd never lived in the country.

Widely regarded for a sustained period of time, it could be very astute business to pick him up now, rather than wait for the rest of the clubs in the world to get interested.

Someone spoke about how FSG should realised what penny pinching is given his previous transfer fee was less than half of this. What happens if he proves his worth and more and is valued considerably higher, would that mean this is a stellar signing because his value can keep growing.

At this point, he's rated by Klopp. Klopp's signings have been astute if some might say underwhelming, in that no high value incoming has been poor, and no low value player has failed to contribute decently. Time we gave him a chance to build his team no? It's not as if we've all be wondering why he's not done it sooner... is it?

Reservations?? .... the defence is a shambles yet we want to spend £30 million odd on a player who has had a good season in Italy?.... Chelsea very seldom allow good quality players to leave especially after 1 season yet he was soon shipped out. This for me is lazy on the clubs behalf,instead of scouting the depths of the globe for the Kante and Mahrez type players we end up paying ridiculous sums for dross. And then we wonder why we never move forward

Lets worry about that in 2019.
