#1 - I thought it was interesting that he brought on both Woodburn and Grujic. Suggests they are members of the squad that he would like to give opportunities to going forward and to me seem unlikely to leave this summer.
#2 - There have been a lot of reports about Gomez and his potential departure. How many people think an arrangement like we had for Ibe (Sale with Buy-Back) might prove beneficial if it frees up funds for someone ahead of him in terms of quality and development?
#3 - Sturridge proved two things, and people seem to be missing one side of this. Firstly, Sturridge proved he is certainly of the quality needed at the top level still should he be fit and get the opportunity. The second thing, was just how important having a striker is to Liverpool aims going forward. Whether it is him, or whether we do the right thing and sign a big-talent, its important we have someone to strike fear that has that cutting edge.
#4 - Coutinho had a very good game playing deeper. I worry what this might mean for Lallana going forward, but I think Liverpool should be seriously considering pressing ahead with plans to add a left winger to the squad to allow this to happen more often. I believe Klopp discussed his intentions this week about it. I think that is all positive.
#5 - Full-backs were really exposed in the few moments West Ham managed to make opportunities. While Lovren was guilty as charged for allowing Ayew the chance at the back post, both Milner and Clyne were less productive going forward than we should expect when we have so much possession. I'm starting to think that signing at least one of each this summer is essential to being able to compete for honours next season.
#6 - I might add that the rumours regarding incomings are very promising to my ears. Maybe this summer our pro-active approach will do enough to provide us the squad we really need.
