I think the reason mignolet, lovren and Clyde struggle is they are cowardly and are not willing to put their bodies on the line. It was an interesting article, but it sounds like Klopp is very much behind the decisions he's making. Stevie says as much. Commitment and physicality are trademarks of Klopp's gengenpressing style. They were at Mainz and Dortmund, and we have certainly become a more physical side since he came here. Most of the players aren't the ones he recruited, so that's not exactly his fault. Players like Lallana have become much more physical since he took over.
However, I'm not the biggest fan of this very English way of looking at things that sees every loss or poor performance as a lack of commitment or being soft. This attitude is why England always under-performs in major tournaments, and why the prem consistently underperforms in the CL.
Physicality is important, but it also has to be in balance with tactical nous and skill. That balance was a trademark of Gerrard's game, and that is why he was such a complete player.
