I think it's most likely to be

1. Chelsea
2. Spurs
3. City
4. Liverpool
5. United
6. Arsenal

I believe Arsenal and Man United will be the teams we will battle it out for - both with 3 of the top teams left to play and United still to face Chelsea too. Hopefully United just drop the league and go for the Europa (ignoring the possibility of Leister winning the CL), they definitely have the toughest schedule to deal with and they've not been great against the big teams. Difficult to bet against Arsenal getting top 4 given their record but again they've been poor against the top teams this season and their form currently is awful, with wenger looking like he might leave as well.

I'd have been a lot more confident of wresting a top 4 finish had we won yesterday, but now I feel we'll fall short as we don't have the consistency to win enough of our remaining games even if our competitors take points off each other. For example who among us would put money on us taking all three points off the blues in our next game? There is of course still an outside chance, but we'd need everything to fall our way including all our key players staying fit and suspension free. Then there's the slight problem of finding the long lost key to the door of those several big ugly bus's we're going to encounter from here on in!

We beat them last time out didn't we so why is it such a far fetched bet that we'll beat them now?

You bang on about people giving up on other issues so why are you so ready to give up on this season? Is this just more of you being all talk and no bollox?

Maybe because of where we're at Mr Wilks, personally I think we'll finish 6th because of that.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

I thought that too Lumba but the City game gave me hope. I think a part of the decline in performance was down to our midfield having no balls, if Can and Wij are able to play like that again we'll be grand.

Absolutely agree.

But the biggest obstacle between us and a top four finish is not the games to come, it is the latest holiday "training" camp in sunny Spain.

Frolicking around at a holiday camp may be a jolly good rollicking good time, but it is a rediculous distraction that destroys any focus and momentum the team has been gathering.

Whoever came up with this idea should be he-bitch-slapped for being so stupid.

What do you mean by where we're at? We're 4th and have had some good results lately.

We had a great run until January, beating a lot of the lesser teams we've got to play. Why is it so unthinkable that it'll happen again?

They're doing exactly what they would be at Melwood just with better weather so what's the problem?

It sounds indulgent to send them away on trips like the last one in Spain, then we get spanked by Leicester, but I was listening to a physio/sports expert on TalkSport this morning and he was saying the break in warm weather can really help the team and recuperation, which gives us a huge advantage over our rivals, so if it gets us a CL qualification, it's worth it.

Since the Spain trip we have beaten Arsenal & Burnley, drawn against City and lost to Leicester, you could argue Leicester was unfortunate timing as they sacked Ranieri just before, had a bounce and the players got a hammering before and went out and played like the Champions they are, we were unlucky to be the next team they played. We played badly against Burnley but got the win through dogged determination, so maybe the trip away helped us achieve this, we look like we have more energy/endurance that our rivals.

I think we were flattered on Sunday by a very weak performance by City, they started well enough but ran out of steam towards the end of the 1st half, they looked jaded at that stage. They we're floundering until they got the goal against the run of play, and that gave them a boost. So I'd be cautious about being too buoyed up by Sundays performance. Hope I've read it wrong and your analysis proves to be the correct one Derek, maybe if we thump the Blues I'll regain some of my confidence.

As I said in the city thread we really needed to beat them because them and Spurs have 11 games left while Arsenal and Utd have 10 games, we only have 9 so they may play each other but they still have an advantage in that regard. Fking Lallana if only he put that golden chance away we'd be a lot happier now.

If we dont qualify for cl it wont be because of this game but because of the abysmal Jan we had
