Leaving aside the wind ups his assessment of Liverpool's prospects this season have proved unerringly accurate and he made them while we were all full of the joys of optimism that bubbles well and truly burst would you not say

No problem with his assessment, problen is his wind ups especially as Lain said, the pleasure he gets when we don't do well. He is no fan of LFC and is only here because of the pleasure he gets to annoy people.

And last time I checked, the season finishes in May so I won't be giving up just yet.

Risky is an understatement. It's actually looking unlikely now. We are fifth, barely in front of Utd. Man City is comfortably beating the lesser teams, Utd are playing well, and the only times we don't look like losing are vs the big teams with us running like 10km more than the opposition.

Not giving up is one thing, being realistic is another. I can't see us catching City and I feel it would be the same with our players. When on paper you are weaker and then lose your lead over a few games, it is very difficult to get you playing beyond your capabilities. Maybe having less games might help, but I am not holding my breath. Buying players in Jan helps in motivating players as it shows ambition and provides competition, not doing it when you are in a downward spiral make things worse psychologically. We'll see

I am being realistic. Will it be easy? No. Is it still possible? More than!

We've proved to be good enough to be in the top 4 regardless of our shitte run. This isn't about a loss of ability or not buying players or even fitness for me. This is more in our heads at the moment and there's no reason we can't get over it. When we do, we're more than good enough, as proven in the first half of the season, to go on a run.

All those around us will also be playing in Europe and that is when most of them dropped points. Utd were turd in the league when playing Thursday nights and with Arsenal back in Europe and Spurs in the Thursday night comp. it could make for an interesting time.

We were always playing above ourselves and in a false position, for me only daft people thought we were a good team capable of wining tbe league. The only hope was to out score teams each week which was never going to happen, the manager should of known this and find something about the defence but chose not to.
The league has always been a marathon not a sprint and we decided to spring at the wrong time now we are at the stage we're Firmino has more points on his driving licence than we have league points on the board since January 1st...

I don't see us having the depth to play that intensive football. Maybe once a week will make it easier, but definitely not twice a week.

I think what it certainly has proved yet again is as far as the League is concerned it's a dead competition for clubs like ours, this season like all the others is living proof which makes it all the more baffling why we don't try to win other competitions we can more realistically win like the cups...
