Can someone smarter than me out there explain how H&G can benefit from selling our best players? If they sell Torres and Gerrard for £100m, whats left of the value of the club?

Thanks Rafarendum. But I`m still not getting it. Selling Torres and Gerrard for £100m, would imo lower the LFC market value by much more than £100m. So if they want to sell the club for £6-800m within a year or so (thats what we hear), they just can`t sell their best players along the way. Or can they? Am I missing something here?

Selling Gerrard & Torres would have a big impact on the worth of the club including merchandising. Not a good move.

Selling best players will definitely have a negative impact on merchandising and on ticket sales, therefore, club valuation. In addition, without good players it will be difficult to qualify for champions league further reducing revenue. Hope the yanks understand this

Torres shirt sales in the east alone is enough to stop him being sold. If he goes it's because he wants out. However he's going nowhere and has never even condidered doing so.

It may be pressure from the banks to sell the players?
