I agree. It seems never ending at the moment with such a horrific start to the year...
Except, we're in fourth place right now. It's like judging a cup competition when you're ahead in the first leg but already conceding defeat before the return.
It makes no sense. To anyone. Who believes in the strength in unity and belief. Something we're struggling with enough on the pitch, never mind the fan base following suit.

Liverpool Fans Every Game Before A Match:
Walk on through the wind Walk on through the rain Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on walk on with hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone You'll never walk alone
Some Fans Every Game After A Defeat:
Better luck to us next year. Season over.
I'm bewildered by all of this. If you're a fan, you know and believe the truths in the song.
its just a song nothing more nothing less, it's doesn't magically make us score or get results when it's sung only graft and hard work does that. When Stoke sing Delilah does that make them sprout wings too....

Its a mantra. Its a statement of belief and confidence that hard work and dedication pays off. When, as a fan base, you concede belief, you're not following the tradition created when you describe "the liverpool way". Time fans learned that.

When, as a fan base, you concede belief, you're not following the tradition created when you describe "the liverpool way". Time fans learned that. The song is just a song associated with the club, nothing more nothing less, like I say most Clubs have them and they are not some magical tool you get out the shed when you need it, West Ham have am forever Blowing Bubbles and Stoke City have Delilah even Man City have Blue Moon. Do you honestly think when "you'll never walk alone " is sung it inspires players like Firmino, Mane and Emre Can...seriously? Even James Milner who is a Leeds lad is not going to be lifted by the song. The only people I can see being influenced are the fans from years ago who still go because it's associated with the old kop, the city of Liverpool and local group Gerry and the Pacemakers, Jeremy from Surrey or Klaus from Norway isn't going to be inspired by a song he's only read about now is he. The point I am making is that I am getting fed up with people harping back to a song and thinking when you sing it, it somehow turns defeats into wins when we all know it's hard work and being clever is the only thing that will turn results around.

It is a song about courage. Which is not shown by the players at the moment.

yes and in 2006 against West Ham in the Cup final and also against Stoke City this season after we went a goal behind, we also sang it against United and we never scored at home and against Swansea at home when we got beat, we basically sing it every game....what's your point....

WiseOne. I clearly didn't suggest that the song brings results. In simple terms, its downright, objectively, misplaced, to sing the song and not understand or follow its meaning. You don't sing about success and winning when you're losing. Its stupid to sing about togetherness and belief when after the event, you throw in the towel. I'd go as far as to say its stupid, and no different to a plastic fan, who supports success and nothing else.
