haha... I didn't notice the Joey Barton reference.

on the subject of today's game though, it's not just a loss is it. We lost to Southampton in the cup ... but that was understandable. We had a bad day and it was just 0-1. We had two shaky games agaisnt Plymouth... but we played youngsters so that's ok. We drew away to Sunderland... that's fine - it was away and these things happen.

But today was a home game against a bottom three side in a situation when we belive that we have the talent to compete for the title. Even so, a 1-0 defeat might be understandable... but we conceded three goals - that's what makes it very concerning.

We were Sh1te today mighty but we have to give Klopp time to build is own team.

Some people are getting ahead of themselves, our squad is exceptionally weak and we are punching well above our weight in that respect.

If we get top 4 this season we will have progressed and we need to have patience.
Of course today was a hefty boot in the b0llocks but we still have plenty to play for this season.

I'm playing devil's advocate here, but I think Klopp, although having done well, needs to be held responsible for our recent poort form to some degree t

Not reinforcing our paper thin squad this window seemed like weird decision to me. I also find it bloody irritating when he says stuff like "they only played long balls" or "only one team came to play" [oops]. There were games(although few) where we had like 40% possession and were defending and he never said anything about those. How our opponent plays should not be an excuse for losing. If chelsea under conte can grind out results against teams that defend deep, then that is what we need to be able to do as well. We need to find solutions, not blame others.

I'm not even sure if FSG is making money available but we need at least 1 HIGH quality player in attack, midfield and defence.

Klopp will get the time and i don't think anyone is questioning his poistion. But I haven't seen any signs in three transfer windows that he's building his team. He seems happy on the whole to work with and develop players he has. Maybe I'm wrong... after all, he has added Mane and Matip.

Hopefully I'll feel better in the morning, even better after Wednesday night and better still after we beat Chelsea at home smile

All he's doing is keeping and working with the good players we already had and adding to it bit by bit. He'll no doubt do the same this summer by adding what we need and getting rid of what we don't. It takes time and patience this way which is why the want it now generation won't accept it.

I don't think it's a case of 'time and patience' vs 'wanting it now'. Had we been hovering around 4th place and making slow progress then I'd say fair enough, we're improving slowly and can look forward to more improvements in the summer.

But we have perhaps made progress quicker than we expected. In addition, a couple of the bigger teams have had unexpectedly poor seasons such that we found ourselves in a great position approaching the half way mark. In this situation, I would have liked us to have brought our plans forward... take advantage of an opportunity... strike whilst the iron is hot.

What if the plans, whatever they are, can't be brought forward? Who's to say if they are it'd make any difference anyway?

It just seems to me that people are only interested in signing players regardless of anything else. We've been great this season when no one expected it and still right up there in the fight for top 4 which was probably this season's aim. I still don't see why we can't continue that fight after this loss of form.

I'd say there is also a lot of wanting it now going on as is the nature of people in this day and age. It's like football is o e massive game of fifa or something.

As we discussed earlier, it's about taking a gamble sometimes. I can see only a few reasons why plans can't be brough foreward: 1. lack of funds 2.lack of desire - Maybe Klopp doesn't want to sign anyone. 3.lack of available options. None of us know which one it is... but I would have thought that a club of our standing, in terms of prestige and finances, should be able to make a move if the situation demanded it.

Our target may have been to fight for 4th at the start of the season but given where we found ourselves at halfway, given that other teams were struggling and still have european football to contend with, shouldn't we then revise our target midseason and invest in order to consolidate our position?

He ho hesitates generally loses. I don't think the two Manchester clubs will stand still over the summer. they will again outspend us. The opportunity is there now to put them under more pressuer whilst they are struggling.

I don't think we want signings just for the sake of it. We can all see certain areas that need addressing. Whatever happens, I agree - we can still fight for the rest of the season. But if we fade slightly it will feel like a missed opportunity.

Well for me this is all about what Klopp wants and how he wants to do it. It's fine and natural to question him but we all want him here and wanted him here so at some point we're going to have to trust the best manager we've had in years to do his job and that he knows what he's doing.

I'm not too sure about that. I think it's somewhere in between.

To a certain extent, with the transfer window system, the amount of money flowing around the game, the way things change so quickly etc... i think football has indeed become like fifa or fantasy league. The teams that are looking to improve their position have to use the transfer windows wisely. I think the only teams that can wait for summer windows only are the top three that know they can outbid anyone for the players they want.

Who did we get last summer? I think it was only Mane and at £35m a lot of us were very worried.
