At the start of yesterday Simon Maddock of the Daily Mirror was reporting that Rafa had been told he would be getting hardly anything in terms of a transfer budget this summer. By the end of yesterday and in today's Mirror, Maddock is reporting our new manager (whoever it is) will be getting around £20m to spend this summer and a guarantee of getting all income he makes from sales. Just wondered what peoples thoughts are on this? Did our board use the threat of a non-existent budget as a tool to finally get rid of Rafa, so that it could be given to a manager they really wanted? Perhaps it was more a case that they "wouldn't" guarantee Rafa a decent budget, rather than "couldn't"? Did Rafa really demand £60m to buy 3/4 top players and therefore thought £20m plus sales wasn't enough?
