Not sure how anyone could deserve below a six yesterday. We limited their scoring chances to 1 when they had possession and looked dangerous when we attacked. The irritation was definitely down to not having the penetration we should have, but it wasn't as if anyone played badly... A deserved win, and all the more special considering it puts us in firm position as primary title challenger to Chelsea.

Mignolet 7 - Solid when called upon, his only two actions of note were claiming a corner and rushing to clear with Lukaku chasing down.
Clyne 6.5 - Solid defensively, but didn't do enough offensively to back up Mane on the right.
Klavan 7.5 - Good display from Klavan after early apprehension aerially. Deserved the clean sheet.
Lovren 8 - My MOTM. Thought his competence in the air forced Lukaku to stick to Klavan. Dominated on the ground too and offered some offensive threat too bringing the ball out of defence. Impressive showing.
Milner 7 - Better than solid but not quite good. His usual consistency was there, but struggled with most attempts into the box from out wide while Origi was up top.
Henderson 7.5 - Feel most would give him a 7 but he really offered a lot late on in the game. Not only did he organise the team in the first half, but pulled the team much higher up the field in the second half. Keeping posession offered us a sustained threat. Without him, not sure we claim that winner.
Wijnaldum 7 - Solid performance, even if his confidence isn't there offensively yet. His touches in and around the box did open up space for others.
Lallana 6.5 - Wasn't a game suited to Lallana and it showed early in the first half. Important to find rhythm early in the game, but only started to show in the formative moments of the second half. Harsh given his recent performances.
Firmino 7 - This rating would have been lower if it weren't for his consistent effort, endeavor and opportunistic perseverance. Even when they fail to come off, he is still head and shoulders above most players on the pitch for quality. Lucky to have him.
Mane 7.5 - Fee aside, he has proven influential and quite consistent. His acceleration compensates for the lack of quick thinking at times. Telling that he and Firmino were so close to following up Sturridges shot. Brawn and brains are a dangerous combination.
Origi 6.5 - Maybe a little harsh, but I felt he got dragged deep a bit too often. When he did have half chances, they were generally spurned. Holds up play well, but where goals have covered for some inconsistencies in previous games, today, he failed to find the back of the net.

Sturridge 7 - With the time he had, he made his mark. All you can ask from a substitute is to provide something different, or offer fresh legs. He offered both, and whether fortunate or unfortunate, few others would have even tried that shot.
Can 6.5 - Offered enough in the final forays. Wasn't visible enough to have been shown to make more than a standard contribution.
Lucas (Not enough time to have any influence)

Klavan was exceptional yesterday, didn't put a foot wrong and he was exactly the same away at Middlesbrough.

I wasn't convinced at all when we signed him but he looks a very solid defender.

Personally I think he was LFC's MOTM.

Ridiculous ratings

My view:
Mignolet 7, confident and aggressive
Clyne 6, hmmm, why will he never get to the by-line?
Klavan 7, confident and even runs with the ball - bonus
Lovren 7, not too shabby
Milner 6.5, surely we can find a left footed wing-back?
Henderson 5.5, meh.. afraid to run with the ball (?)
Wijnaldum 7, confident on the ball, works hard, me likie
Lallana 6.5, needs time after injury. should not be starting yet based on this performance, but the squad is lean
Firmino 6.5, little boy lost at the moment, a luxury player and not a giant.
Mane 8, runs, get knocked down, gets up, runs, scores. he is a match winner and I can see him scoring winners in cup finals
Origi 5. The lad has scored a few in recent games, but this performance is kind of his standard (average) and I cant see him becoming a legendary goal machine.

Klavan cannot be 5 as he was at least as good as Lovren and Wijnaldum was better than Lallana who couldn't cope with the hard game. I would give Klopp at least 9 as his change made the difference in a very aggressive derby. Why do I feel that you always have an agenda when you do these ratings, unless you are clueless

And Klopp. He gets a 9 for showing he is human and has corrected his selection mistakes in previous games. And he is making changes - impact changes - and earlier in the game to turn the tide.
