Yep, unless we can replace him in January, it would be silly to sell, if he ever gets fit, his goals could make all the difference of we lose a few players. Agreed. His fitness issues has rendered him unreliable.I personally think he's worth keeping if no one else is brought in. Having him and Ings sidelined is a bit frustrating. Granted we have players scoring goals, we'd probably be a whole lot better with these two fully fit and firing. Ings still have time given his age, but I wonder what will become of him.

Would i be right in saying hes only started 4 times for us this season? And we're 2nd in the league. Thats a fantastic achievement to be at this point in the season with a player of his skill not playing. Problem is hes far too unreliable. I still question his "injuries" and his ambition at Liverpool, but his skill and goalscoring is undeniable. We dont necessarily need sturridge but we need someone on that level if we all have the dream of competing still for the league come May. I think sturridge in some ways thinks he is better than he actually is in his own head. His lack of effort or running whatever people want to call it here is atrocious for a team currently built on team work and hard effort and everyone playing for each other. If we got 35 million for him we would need to replace him. Would anyone gamble on some of these names been thrown around Europe like Lazcatte or someone like that? Because we are gonna have to replace him with someone in that bracket.

If we sell, we'll need to buy as we are thin in that area and will probably need to add 10-15m to get a proper 1st team striker. So yes, we should sell if we buy a 35m striker.

I think going by Klopp lads body and facial language, that Sturridge is now surplus to requirements in his eyes.

I agree he is surplus to requirements, it is a question of if we can sell him and how much we get. It's a shame injuries have blighted his career, I know we all question his commitment etc, but I am sure as a footballer, he want's to play football, he doesn't want to be on the sidelines. No one is questioning his ability and the problem I have is that with the likely transfer fee we get for him, we would not be able to bring in a player anywhere near his quality, if fit, he is still an excellent player to be in the squad/bring on when we need a goal, with the injured players we/will have, we are best keeping him till the summer when we can properly sell and replace him.

Yesterday's match showed clearly what you can do if you have quality on the bench. Before selling Sturridge, we have to think of a first class replacement.

I agree, he is an excellent impact player off the bench at least, hia quality will create chances and you can see opposition defenders are worried when he comes on due to his pace and ability to make something happen.

Sulks too much. Constantly injured, claims he has never been injured that much.
needs to go.
would Klopp have signed Sturridge if he was not at the club?
Not a chance in hell.

He'll only go if we get an adequate replacement. I think Klopp will look for the sort of striker that can also play as a winger, so that it gives us different options to cover injuries and will help with our fluid interchanging system.
Not sure who fits that criteria and is available though
