If the board sacked rafa, then they should pay him his full compensation, its shameful their discussing a lower amount. I know last season was really poor but seriously the man deserves what he has done for the club and those jokers should pay him what he deserves instead of putting it into their bank accounts.

you can't make him redundant and then replace him - i.e. employers cannot simply get rid of staff they don't like with a false claim that their position is redundant.

They can't sack him unless its gross misconduct or the like.

The standard for football managers is to be paid for their remaining contract years so that's what he should get IMO. Not reinventing the wheel here - how many managers get sacked is a season and how many have accepted £3m when they are entitled to £16m?

i don't understand why we should pay him £16m upfront.

usually when a manager gets sacked the club will pay him until he finds a new club. lets say he joins inter within a month, why should he receive £16m just so he can go and get a new salary somewhere else?

if you have 4 years left on you contract, and you get 5 million per year, your contract is worTH 20million. each year that elapses you loose earn 5 million, so if you have 2 year left, you have 10million left on your contract.

Players and managers are assets on your financial statements, that is why Hicks and Gill extend the contract of teh senior players, cos that increases the assets on he balance sheet which allows you to ask More money for you club.

Its all well and good him screwing the owners / club for what he wants but where does that leave the clubs finances? I'm sure that they can all come to a figure that will suit all parties. It won't help anyone if this drags on and on over his payout.
