This season is Liverpool's only real chance of League success as you won't get another season when the big clubs City, United and Chelsea all have brand new managers at the same time and need time to settle, no Europe too, for me the one and only chance as them clubs will all be stronger and better next season...
Anything whatsoever to back this up with Marine Boy?Klopp says he is only just starting where you getting your info from? I think I have said before the best method on these things is to look at the way football has worked. When I first started watching the Clubs called the shots and players were lucky to play for there clubs, it's the other way around now with players calling the shots and Clubs lucky to employ players. There is no way Shanks, Paisley and Jock Stein etc would of put up with players dictating to clubs like the modern ones do today, This brings me on to my point players and managers are different now, players move clubs for the good of there careers and financial benefit and managers treat Clubs like that too. A manager and player will always monoevere his career to play or manage one of the super clubs if he is good enough managers who what I would call in the second tier with massive potential but not achieved real success yet like Diego Simeone, Klopp, Koeman and Pochettino look set for good things and if they continue to improve will aim for a super club like City, Chelsea, United, Bayern, Real Madrid or Barca but they will all have to move Clubs to achieve greatness. Similar with players, they want to end up at one of the super clubs too if they manage to keep improving and progressing, I think people who don't believe this is how football works is being quite nieve or won't admit it, there odd exceptions but far and few between especially when managers and players don't have any real connection or ties with the club... funny how I was saying about managers and players needing and wanting to play for the super clubs and sure enough Jamie Carragher is saying exactly the same thing in his column in the Mail this morning, He mentions Lukaku at Everton saying if he continues to score goals he will need to end up at a super club the same as what happens with our best players like Suarez and Alonso and probably courtino. Think it's harder for Liverpool customers to accept because 20 odd years ago we were top of the food chain and one of the super clubs the best players wanted to go to in fact I can remember the headlines and shock when one player turned us down, Charlie Nicholas he wanted the bright lights of London and earned the nickname champagne Charlie coz of it.. In the post above this one you said that we have always sold our best players to the super clubs In this post you say that we were once one of the super clubs that the best players wanted to go to. What were you warned about posting on an empty head.

Liverpool could move forward if Klopp brings a lot of success which is possible but only within the constraints of FSG we might improve from where we are today but not maximise our full potential that's the point settling for less let me put it like that Yes I agree, Klopp is obviously a very good manager and will get the best out of whatever he has available, and that should see us challenging in this season without midweek competition. However imo he'll need a stronger squad and less problems in defence if we play in Europe next season. As for maximising our full potential, I agree we can't do that under FSG constraints, including their propensity for selling off their best performers. We're more likely to be consistent catch up strugglers than consummate top dogs, unfortunately. We always sold our best players who wanted to leave, nothing new under FSG, the examples I remember are Keagan, Rush, Owen, Mc Manaman. And which constrains are you talking about, they we always at the club, in fact, our most expensive purchases were under FSG. We do not need to have a huge squad while we are out of Europe with top players warming the bench, look at Sturridge, do you think he is happy not playing regularly? Do you think we should have bought Pogba for the money which Manure paid? Klopp had money to spend but decided not to, he knows what he is doing. You seem to moan just for the sake of it. yes we have a history of selling our best players like you mention so nothing new there, we have always been a selling club even during our most successful period. I think time will tell wether we should of bought Pogba for 90 million, if he helps United to 2 or 3 league titles and a champions League win it will be money well spent. I would say all this was said at the same time Real Madrid shelled out 47 million for Zidane and tha one worked so let just give Pogba a bit of time before totally writing him off, I agree with posters who say Klopp like to turn players into good ones rather than finished article ones.. Never said we are a selling club, I said we sell when the player wants to leave, same with United when they sold Ronaldo for example.

We are not a club the very top players want to come to nor are we in the market for them that's pretty obvious I don't have a problem with it, it's been clear for some time Liverpool football clubs ambitions are limited to FSG,s investment plan which is minimum not optimum

mmmmm quite debatable that as I am not so sure Rush wanted to leave at the time and I am damn sure Xabi Alonso wanted to stay but was still sold. Alonso alongside Suarez who did want to leave are the only two players Liverpool have had that have gone on to become world class since leaving us...

Despite being top of the food chain we sold both Keagan and Rush. The big difference now is that Real Madrid and Barcelona are in a different league thanks to tv money distribution in Spain. Nobody can compete with them, Ronaldo and Bale going to Real are examples.

I don't remember any. Even when Barnes came, he was not the very top and Dalglish was known only in Britain, not sure he was considered best in the world.

We're more likely to be consistent catch up strugglers than consummate top dogs, unfortunately. Like someone earlier mentioned I think the real test for a Club is when they are competing in Europe aswell as the League, Leicester have shown smaller clubs can reach the top without Europe so this needs to be our aim however I honestly believe if we ever did win the League we would struggle like Leicester have this season as we can't compete with the big boys and Europe too. I really don't think FSG will ever budget to win major trophies, if they manage success then they will take it all day but putting there hands in there pocket to get it is an entirely different matter. This season is Liverpool's only real chance of League success as you won't get another season when the big clubs City, United and Chelsea all have brand new managers at the same time and need time to settle, no Europe too, for me the one and only chance as them clubs will all be stronger and better next season... Ha, ha, me ould Star-Spangled Banner, isn't it interesting how polar opposites meet at the equator? However Liverpool is no Leicester nor are we a "smaller club". Liverpool is one of Europe's true footballing aristocrats, and will remain so for many a long day to come. FSG are but a blip on the screen and when the time is right for them they'll take a handsome profit and move on. To put it another way the cream always rises to the top, and you can bet your bottom dollar Liverpool will be back there again.

Yes I agree but we competed at the very top of the British market in fact we were the top that's far from the case now that's partly due to the overall money coming into football but partly because of budget constraints

Alonso wanted to leave because Benitez wanted to replace him with Barry in the previous season, Suarez came to Europe to end up with his in laws in Barcelona, Torres left because of H&G and Sterling left because he wanted to have more money he deserved.
