Collymore tweeted the following earlier ...

"S** have now completed TS takeover. Any former #LFC player or #LFC fan contributor to TS will be funding the S** And I’ll be asking why.

"No problem with Sky, Fox, Harper Collins etc etc. They didn't sanction 27 years of hurt for 96 families. S** did."

He then mentioned Danny Murphy and Didi Hamann when someone asked him about which former LFC staff worked for the station.

What's your views on this? Is Stan right or is he holding a grudge because talkSPORT binned him? The Sun hasn't bought talkSPORT but he's suggesting they have and some people will see it that way.

What I don't understand is it's a Rupert Murdoch-owned group which also owns things like The Times newspaper. If it's ok to read The Times and watch Sky Sports, then why is it not ok to listen to talkSPORT, which also isn't The Sun?

Carragher, Souness, Redknapp (even Klopp, tonight), all appear on Sky so what's the difference? That trio are all paid by the same group?

What's your views? This interests me as I have always listened to talkSPORT while working as I enjoy football debate and I like to hear people like Didi Hamann.

For me there's really no escape from indirectly supporting them as the same large corporations run their adds in all these media, so reading/listening to any of them indirectly supports the others. We're living in a globalised world especially in media terms, and they're nearly all intertwined one way or t'other, so we have little option. I refuse to either read or buy the S** though! and forever will.

If you want to watch or learn anything football related you cannot ignore sky. It's impossible.

However I haven't ever touched the s*n for obvious reasons despite being too young at that point to know what happened.

Talk sport tho is something I've only recently chosen to ignore. As soon as Colin Murray mentioned it I stopped visiting the website and listening to the talk show. and then Stan collymore mentioned it I feel like Murphy and hamann will be the next to leave.

I don't hold any grudges for ex players who choose to work there or for them they have a limited shelf life and will always go to the highest bidder. I doubt any of them have any links to the families or the city apart from signing for the club years later.

Each to their own really.

Ive heard him through an online radio about 4/5 times talking about games and I think he was actually quite good as well if im honest. I know at times hes not the brightest with things but I would have a lot more respect for him after what he done and left talksport after the s*n took it over. Fair play to him.

It's impossible to avoid everything that is indirectly related to something hateful these days. It's all about the money. Personally I just avoid the *** (pretty easy considering i'm no longer in England wink. Although I would probably avoid the Times too after the [oops] they pulled with the Hillsborough inquest verdict.

I wonder if Collymore would have kept quiet if they would have renewed his contract and not got rid of him?

I agree, will never buy the S*n but it's hard to avoid Murdoch's empire, I have Sky TV as I watch the football, I would rather not send my money to Murdoch, but there isn't much alternative for good football coverage, if you goto BT
/Virgin they still send most of it to Murdoch as a license.
