no point me slating Rodgers now, but if he was helpless and couldnt command his authority and accepted [oops] players imposed by others then i m glad hes gone as this just suggests hes best suited for celtics n swanseas. not a club like lfc which is struggling to be where it belongs.

I agree, the club was a mess at the time, no one could even identify who was making the signings, it certainly was not the manager. At least we have a strong manager now who is guiding the club and targeting the players, I think FSG have wisened up now and stopped their experiments and committee's.

To be fair to Rodgers, he was offered the chance to manage one of the top clubs in the world when he was at Swansea, you cannot blame him for going for it. As for him accepting what FSG wanted, if he would have resigned he would have lost millions in compensation, so you can't blame him for not walking.

I was no fan of Rodgers at the end, I got sick of his lame statements/excuses and he lost the plot, but he nearly became an Anfield legend if he would have won the league in 2014.

Mario was being slaughtered by countless so-called supporters online about 5 minutes after arriving at our club. He clearly showed commitment for around 3/4 months then got p!ssed off at the endless (often unjustified) criticism and decided a career in professional football was a waste of time. But other employers were clearly willing to pay £X thousands of pounds a week for him to remain there - who within this forum, would reject the same opportunity?

Mario is one of the biggest lost prospects ever to grace Melwood. £16 million at the age of 24 for a striker who shone so brightly as a teenager for Inter Milan, he was clearly crying out for help when lifting up his shirt after scoring for Man City in the 6-1 win against the Scum. Later he joins LFC and gets mercilessly sl@gged by "fans" from day one. If you disagree strongly with my view, please be specific about yours and compare his relative contribution to other Liverpool players during the last ten years.

I don't entirely understand your view, but is it that it's the fans fault for ballotelli not succeeding? I deny the claim he was committed for the first 3 to 4 months, the only matches where I saw him actually try his hardest were his debut against spurs and besiktas.

as soon as sturridge got injured his commitment was minimal, it was of course very difficult for him playing a poor team that struggled to score goals in itself, but that's what he was bought to do, and he should of made more than a 4 goals 28 game return. he was lazy/casual/arrogant/self interested while he was at liverpool, all the things he was at man city despite how much talent he had.

well for 16 million his contribution is about on par with borini's who was signed for 11 million.

First two years he did a good job despite what this forum would have you believe so don't be disrespectful.

So someone just decides to write off £16m of the clubs money at the stroke of a pen, no body held accountable, nobody asked any questions!! I've said it before and I'll say it again: there should be a judicial investigation into this whole murky world of football transfer dealings, there's vast amounts of Money flowing through this business, and it's a law unto itself, and it's totally unregulated. LFC fans should be up in arms over this ridiculous writing off of huge amounts of the clubs money.
