I've got to agree with Swede...I really thought Rafa would get nothing from the club in terms of a budget and that he would only get the money he made from outgoing sales, so actually I'm quite relieved. As Swede says if we can offload Riera, El Zahr? Degan? and possibly one other (Benny/Babel) then that should bring in around £15m. We have to keep an eye on what Purslow is saying about the player account. He has gone on record to say that all money from sales and purchases goes in and out of this account and it's also where the signing on fees are paid from re new contracts. If we take what he says at face value and the truth, then we can monitor the situation over the summer. So taking Purslow's word we can assume that the majority of the January sales money is still there to be spent. Dossena £4.6m, Veronin £1.8m, San Jose £2.6m and Nicolay Mihaylov £1.5m have all gone either in January or since then, but we've bought Maxi £1.5m, Shelvey £1.7m and Stirling £0.6m, plus paid a new contract signing on fee to Pepe. I have no idea what would have been paid to Pepe, but lets say £0.5m, that still leaves just over £6m sat in the player account. I'm certainly going to keep an interested eye on what money is spent and see if CP words on the players accounts are true and if Rafa is given all his money from sales to reinvest.

I personaly would'nt trust Benitez with fifteen pence never mind fifteen million, the man has wasted nearly all the 250 million pound on poor judgement spent in the transfer market.

So the current squad is worth £250 million..Work out what players have been purchased,which have been sold at a profit,how much has been re-invested and what his net spend over 5 years has really been.

The key here is Rafa has had to plug key positions with a limited budget. He has not had the luxury to spend 90 mil on 3-4 players, so 90 mil on 10-12 players gets you to the bargain basement. I can fault Rafa on strategy but not on player sales as he has had to maintain a squad in numbers to compete in almost all major competitions..

b*llsh** 15m remember we get 20m just for the shirt sponsor that goes straight into the transfer kitty,player sales from jan 10m & player sales from this summer 20-30m potentially on all the deadbeats,& then the owners will chuck in say 20m???? ner forget what ive just said im just dreaming again we are f***ed for next season,i just dont understand how quiet it is at anfield when all around us other teams are spending & putting bids in this does not look good.i know this sounds a bit far fetched but we could well see liverpool on a vast decline with no takeover,same manager & tactics & to make it worse we still have n`gog & lucas.oh god i think im gonna cry.
