Ill give you an example. Someone like Rooney shows up for england matches and passes the ball sideways for 90 mins. Someone on England might win a penalty and he'll take it and score and he looks like a legend for scoring 2 goals against the might san marino. Then you take Ireland, who arent all that good at football, we play with passion and teamwork and sometimes the quality we do have in small amounts steps up and its enough for us to win. Thats the main reason we qualified.

You have players in that English team that are a disgrace to their country and bring shame on past great players England have produced - Linkekar, Charlton, Gazza, Barnes the list goes on and on. If england hadve been knocked out the other night, and every player gave 100% then it wouldve been accetable everyone could turn around and say Iceland were the better team on the night or whatever reason.

The new England manager whoever that is, should drop 90% of that squad who went to the world cup and tell them they need to fight for that position and jersey. As much as it pains me giving credit to a Utd player, that rashford guy played a few mins for England and was much better than sterling was, and he played 2/3 full games.

Bill shankly once said "For a player to be good enough to play for Liverpool, he must be prepared to run through a brick wall for me then come out fighting on the other side." This should be applied to England as well as liverpool.

I rather think that the English players are just over rated mainly by their English fans, there is not much quality there and as soon as the going gets tough they get lost, not knowing what to do.

Wales haven't got by on passion and trying hard they do actually have some top level players for once instead of a load of league 1 players and that's why they're doing well.

Do you know summat?
I couldn't actually give one single monkey's chuff if it annoys you or not, as it IS actually a fact, made clearly evident by ANYONE with reasonable eye sight and intelligence, for all to see and gleefully witness on the television over the last couple of weeks.

Inguulund, no passion, no effort, no shame.

Sorry Growler but your ranting is wrong on this occasion. You can only assume they have no passion or that they weren't trying just by looking at them!

I'm not for one minute saying they are better than they are or deserved anything but when a manager sends you out to play in a completely different way to what you're used to, when you are played out of position, what do you expect from them?

To me, they looked confused and like they were all wondering what they should be doing. Uncle Woy played a system in qualifying that worked and then changed it for the tournament. Played players out of position, put Kane on set piece duty, took half fit players and left form players behind. What on earth do you expect when that happens?

You can take your simplistic view and that's fine but wrong in my opinion. Sorry old boy.

quiet clearly a mixture of the two elements, crappy manager and no leadership on the pitch.. too many young players, too many players that did nothing last season(sterling & wilshere), wrong formations and add in
a shocking dearth of english centre backs which was always ur strong points. Milner should have played every game. Drinkerwater,Antonio, morgan and Townsend should a been in the squad-sterling and wilshere should not have been.

1. I wasn't ranting. You are! Check out the definition of the werd ffs!

2. THAT statement of fact ^^^ was a mini rant.

3.YOU are a typical inguuluuund fan, wearing rose tinted Union Jack glasses with his knotted hankey covered head firmly stuck up his fat and exceedingly wobbly arse

4. I AM confused, you stating that THEY were confused. What utter bollox you speak. THEY ARE PROFESSIONALS, earning more in one WEEK than many of us earn in TEN YEARS!

5.My view may be simplistic in YOUR opinion, but it is in fact correct. Yours is wrong, in MY opinion, so go suck it up chump.

Meanwhile, Wales 2, Portugal 1.

Wales v Germany on Sunday, Germany to win unfortunately.

But whatever the results tonight or Sunday, their squad can fly home rightly proud of themselves.

You never know, wales are no pushover, though the loss of Ramsey might show against them. France looked good against what looked an exhausted Iceland, but I don't think they're all that great. I'm up for Wales and with that bit of essential luck, plucky little Wales will pull it off. Here's hoping anyway.

Rant - speak or shout at length in an angry, impassioned way.
"she was still ranting on about the unfairness of it all"

Courtesy of the dictionary. Hardly a rant was it? More just trying to explain why I think you're wrong.

I have no rose tinted glasses as you say. I know exactly what we are and that's not good enough to win a tournament like this. But you can't say for a fact that they have no passion or weren't trying. How can you say that as a fact unless you were there playing with them? It's your opinion and that's fine but hardly a fact.

Fact - a thing that is known or proved to be true.

Just in case you need the meaning.

I'd also argue that the players can be confused by what they're being asked to do. They're still human despite what they earn and if the manager is sending them out to do things they don't usually then of course they can be confused. Still doesn't excuse them as they're good enough to do better than they have. But the manager has to take a huge amount of blame for how bad we were with the players he picked and how he tried to get us playing.

And yes, your view is simplistic. It's how you think of it and that's fine. I don't agree nor do I have to but there's no need to get bent out of shape about it. We're just talking of our different views. You think I'm wrong and you are wrong whistle
