Looks like Liverpool are standing firm for £30 million for Benteke, I'm glad we are being strong and demanding a good fee, too many times we sell players that don't fit in for half the price we bought, like Carrol/Keane etc.
Worse case, if we don't sell, I still think he has potential to be useful as a squad player, so not like he is a problem to stay(unlike Balotelli).
The transfer market should pick up now the Euro's/Copa are coming to an end and some of the big nations are coming home, I am glad we did our transfers early so there was less competition, so now we will see who we can sell, looks like Skrtel is going, especially after his tweets!!!! shame about the tweets, he's been a good player for Liverpool (always hated him grabbing players/shirts when defending) but time to move on, he's had a good Euro's so should be a few takers.
He's fuc*ed on here anyway after that tweet, look at the trouble I get into after taking a snip at Klopp'o

Anyone else flabbergasted that we are bookies favourites to sign Memphis yes I'm very surprised by that. hazard could be going to madrid, I don't see sanchez coming to us, and mkhitaryan to man utd. I want to know whose in the frame if coutinho goes, moura, mertens, reus?

Anything above 20m for Benteke would do for me though I am very skeptical it's also letting one of our rivals sign a player who they could turn into a feared PL striker though?

I'd rather he went to Crystal Palace than West Ham, they are more rivals with the new stadium (paid by the Tax Payer???) He's never going to fit in to Klopps style of play, I would rather we sold to a lower team than strengthen one of our major rivals like Chelski. Ideally, I'd prefer he went abroad, but I cannot see any of the foreign teams paying the money we want, though Athletico Madrid have been rumoured. We should stand strong on £25+ million, its been reported they have offered £25 million.

The other weird thing is that it is being reported that Crystal Palace have agreed terms with Benteke: http://www.koptalk.com/liverpool-fc-news/crystal-palace-agrees-personal-terms-christian-benteke/from what I have seen they have offered £25 million and we want £30 million, I haven't seen any reports that we have given permission for Crystal Palace to speak to Benteke, surely this is tapping him up and putting the pressure on Liverpool to sell cheaper, as the player wants the move as he has agreed terms, surely this weakens our negotiation position to sell the player?

It's also being reported that we are asking £10 million for Joe Allen? he's just been a key member of the team that made the Euro's semi final and had a good end to the season with us, if he was German/French and we were after him his price would have increased £10+ million!!!!
We bought him for £15 million 4 years ago, transfer values have gone up since then, as we have seen with Mane/Benteke etc, we should be asking £20+ million and we negotiate from there, he has improved at Liverpool and at 26 is approaching his peak and has a good 5 years in him.

I know his substitution against dortmund helped him be the (poor?) deep lying/playmaker he is, but I think we only need to look at the capitulation against southampton to realize he's not good enough quality (only Can and Milner are remotely good enough, neither is henderson but he can offer something better to milner, not sure how much game time hendo will get though if he's not sold, we'll have to wait and see and trust klopp) good player to have in the squad. I agree he has improved at liverpool though, since the title challenge season. He owes a lot to rodgers. I think we can possibly squeeze another 5 10 million or more for him too, since he's been good in a 3 man midfield plus wingbacks (5) this euros, I don't know why more teams in the PL don't use back threes. swansea probably want him for 10m when the tournament is done, and I'd be stunned if sevilla offer him CL football to join leicester next season, but I'm allowed to have a different opinion
