Brexit England and Roy Hodgson was predicting an English goal feast.
The limp lions have no spirit and the main reason has been the uninspiring manager and the pie-eater team captain.
Where are the heroes in this team?

Vardy and Rashford were the only ones who looked like they were trying...and they came on far too late to make a difference!
The FA needs a total overhaul...get rid of the coffin dodgers!
EPL needs a winter break like every other nation in europe...our players look like they're on their last legs, every time they go to the euros or world cup...there is never any freshness or dynamism about the team.
A new FA must tell players it's Country before club or don't bother playing for your Country. It's f*cking shocking that the nation who invented the game, has one noteworthy trophy in their history, and that was on their home soil!

Vardy and Rashford were the only ones who looked like they were trying...and they came on far too late to make a difference!
The FA needs a total overhaul...get rid of the coffin dodgers!
EPL needs a winter break like every other nation in europe...our players look like they're on their last legs, every time they go to the euros or world cup...there is never any freshness or dynamism about the team.

I don't think we can blame that performance on the mid season break, quite a few of the Iceland players are in the UK leagues, and their 4 games started the same players, so they should be more tired than us. Our main problems were that we had the owl in charge, we never seemed to have a system, some bizarre set play takers/markers, I can't believe Gary Neville was a coach and our defensive setup was so poor, pretty basic stuff, and when that all failed the players lost the confidence/plot. Iceland also played well to a system/strengths and knew exactly what they were doing, so credit to them. France must be happy !!!

Brutal comments from the pundits which are pretty accurate;
Alan Shearer:"We are blinded by the Premier League, we think it's the best in the world for talent, it's not. We are totally reliant for foreign players and managers for excitement. We are not as good as we think we are."
Chris Waddle: "We haven't got leaders - they're all pampered, they're all headphones and you can't get anything out of them."
Jamie Carragher: "They're just an average bunch of players really and obviously the manager carries the can. I can't see how he could continue. But the players are nowhere near good enough."

They were never going to go very far, it is only a majority of the English fans who think that they have a great team, they are just very overrated. Sometimes I have the impression that this is a predominant English sentiment, ie, over rate themselves thinking that they are better than they are and therefore much better than all others. Maybe this is what English pride is.

They're all in the rugby team yes the england rugby coach came in with an actual plan, real objectives, making our lineup and scrum our bread and butter like england sides of old. roy had no real way of improving the players at his disposal or even getting the best out of any of them. I guess people think what england did at the euros is only what they are capable of, they really don't know football

'systems don't win you matches' (no but systems are what you improve in) maybe this is why roy refused to really change from playing some form of front 3, only occasionally switching to a diamond near the end of matches in an attempt to break teams down. like I said only he could fvck up a pressing game which was working well in very competitive friendly games pre tournament.
accommodating rooney in a midfield 3 was funny, he added hardly anything in his passing, as he was too deep as our number 10, it's not even like he could pick the ball up in areas high up the pitch and pick a defence splitting pass like he has for man utd this season. england's failure to play with wingers cost them doing anything in the tournament imo

Furthermore, why is anyone shocked? So many reactions are a joke - and it's clear we underestimated Iceland. They were undefeated in their qualifiers, beating Holland twice, then undefeated in their opening group games in a tougher group than England. They play with intelligence and organisation - the two things England lack. The population disparity means nothing. I heard that being rattled on about several times last night. Good point KP.....so friggin' what?!  Obviously a country that produce real MEN, NOT grossly over rated overpaid prima donna pansies and toss pot fairies shooting way above their station.

I've been saying for about 4 years now that the FA has to wake up and change football in this country. It's blindingly obvious that we don't produce enough quality English players due to the influx of foreign players in the EPL. The fans in this country also need to stop proclaiming the EPL as the best in the world as it's not. No where near and until the FA stand up to the EPL and make sweeping changes as the Germans did, nothing will change.
