Players first want to know how much money is being offered per week in wages
B4 they ask abt cl footy
Just ask United ie di maria and Chelsea this summer !!!! Most top players want both, if no CL some are available to be bribed on extortionate wages like UTD did with Di Maria !!!! but we will never pay the bribe wages (rightly so) to lure a World Class player like that. A few here don't seem to get that....

Mane represents another massive gamble from a small club with players track records on arriving at us being patchy and that's being generous.
Yet again this is WC money for a small fish player. I hope the Klopp effect works with this lad because this committee shower are still at the helm (by the looks of things)and have learned nothing. Bang on the money Top 4. The Liverpool way appears to be throw money at the likes of Mane, Lallana, Lovren, Benteke to ensure they join us. Problem is when these type of players inevitably struggle to live up to their price tags we can't sell them because they are on big contracts and wages which no club with an ounce of sense would agree to match. Hence why we have so much rubbish on the books that we can't move on. I am so frustrated and bored with Liverpool's transfer strategy which just doesn't change. Plenty of time left yet and hopefully we will sign some proven quality but my expectations for LFC are falling day by day. Sad times.

Plenty of time left yet and hopefully we will sign some proven quality but my expectations for LFC are falling day by day. Sad times. 'Proven quality' tends to be an immeasurable quantity. Lovren had proved himself to be one of the better CBs in the PL, we bought him and it took him a year to get to the level at which we thought we bought him. Diouf proved himself on the world stage, that didn't turn out too well either. Coutinho had barely any first senior team experience, yet he's outstanding? It's not as easy as buying 'proven quality', everyone reacts differently to transferring clubs and the ones that take less time, cost a lot more. You want proven quality that will perform from day 1? Surely you're looking at 60m not 30m now. I know what you're getting at but you have to learn to accept football in 2016, 30m is not a lot for a clubs top player anymore, just look at Leicester's attempts at getting Deeney- 25m is insane for Deeney, but that's his price now. Every PL club has TV money so everyone knows the other clubs have got money to burn. When the Coutinho > PSG rumours started, most, if not all LFC fans hoped we'd get at least 60m for him. Is he worth that much from an objective POV or is he worth that much to us because he is vitally important to LFC? The latter, surely, he's not a 60m player yet. We can't have it both ways- we either throw money at players so they sign and hope they don't under perform or we go for players who will happily sign within our current budget and hope they over perform.

But your saying Lovren proved himself to be one of the better defenders in the Premiership, what's that based on? One season? Diouf was good in one World Cup which was over a few games. These players should be scouted long and hard to ensure they not only have the quality to make the step up but also the mental strength to play for a top club. So many of our recent signings are lacking this.

No we need both levels of signings. The problem now is that we have only the second catagory: Hopefuls - both cheap (a few) and expensive (most of them).

Hope this one works out better than some of last recent big money signings.
Benteke 32m Lallana 25m Lovern 20m
Not good enough. Benteke is decent, but will not work out here. Lallana so far overall he has been average. Lovern the same. There is no way you cannot say that we could have not gotten players of the same standard as Lovern or Lallana for a lot less than we paid.
The cheaper signings like Can, Sturridge, couthino,Clyne(cheapish) Milner free have been a lot better

Mikthryian has only a year on his contract, he has said he wants a move, so I guess BD are taking the £26 million now rather than nothing in 12 months. He's an excellent player, Utd will be paying him a fortune as I expected him to goto a CL club. Shame Klopp doesn't seem to get on with him from the quotes I read in quarter finals, he is just what our midfield needs, pace, goals and creativity. Hate to say it, but he is a very good buy from Utd, I expected Arsenal to buy him, he is a typical Wenger player, they were linked, or maybe PSG. Gotze also has a year left at Bayern, I think that's why Bayern are being very vocal that he has no future with them, they know we will pay £30 million to get him, so want the money now rather than risk him leaving on a free next summer, that's why Gotze is playing hardball, I don't think this is over, I expect Gotze to move this summer, not convinced we will get him though.
