I have never said i think couthino is world class... in fact i have wrote multiple times on a few threads that i would have no problem selling couthino for good money.

The difference is couthino pulls players towards him, he single handly has people man marking him because of how effective he can be in games. Mane doesnt. Hes a southampton level player and thats all he will be. If a midtable finish is what you want thats fine, but theres plenty of people on here and who support liverpool that dont want Mane.

30+ MILLION ....let that sink in. He will score goals im sure but not 15+ for liverpool to justify paying 30 million+.

Lallana: 7 goals 7 assists
Mane: 15 goals 6 assists

Stats above are for all competitions.

So taking the simplistic view that we can expect a similar par return from each player next season, we've paid £30m+ to add 7 goals to our season. So if those goals all come in the league its a maximum increase of 14 points (if all goals turn draws into win).

Though Lallana does provide more defensive cover, so may save us a couple of goals a season.

It could work out, £30m for an extra 14 points is a great deal, but more likely this signing will only get us an extra 5-7 points a season IF they repeat last years performances

What would you consider good money for Coutinho then? £20m? £30m? Most on here were talking £50m and that for someone with less goals and assists than Mane. Makes £30m look like a bargain no?

Those stats are not like for like as Lallana played more games. So Mane produced more in less games.

I prefer the goals per game stat. Mane last season, better than 1 in 3 games, exactly 1 in 3 since he joined southampton. Lallana last season averaged 1 in every 7 games last season and 1 in 7 since he joined us. Goals win games.

1 in 3 is an excellent record for a winger. That's without mentioning he assisted more in less games too and what his pace will add to the team.

Mane: starts 36 subs 7
Lallana: starts 38 subs 11

Not a massive amount in it, but you're right, Mane had less game time, so hopefully he can better his scoring next season with more games.

Probably something to do with contract length KP. I find it interesting too even if a bit expensive. But hey, most seem to have written him off before he's even had a medical! Oh well, such is the modern fan.

Hahahaha, open mind? I suggest you take your own advice you Brendan Rodgers loving obsessive. I'm a massive fan of Klopp's management but I'm frustrated by our transfer policy.

Playing well for Southampton doesn't mean he can make the step up for Liverpool. And I've said he's a decent player, but in no way shape or form is he a £30million footballer!

Don't you mean step down as they finished above us? grin

Well yes a step down in league position but a big step up in expectation especially since a lot of fans seem to have already judged him before he's kicked a ball so I hope for his sake he starts well.

More potential, he is an attacker, still got two years left on his contract

There's no point in conmparing Lallana to Mane different sorts of players.

Somewhere right now, the owners of southampton are laughing their boll**s off at us because lijavascript:%20void(0)verpool have done it again. Paid triple the value for one of their players.

Midtable finish for next year if we are lucky i think. Especially if we are signing Mane for that money shows lack of desire to even compete for the PL.

Anything to back that up that it's an FSG signing?

Echo strongly suggesting it is a Klopp buy.
