Where does this myth come from that fsg don't spend money?
Our team is littered with massive wastes of money.like Benteke or even Carroll before him.
I don't get it.
They don't spend lots of money. They buy players that usually have resale value using sometimes using the money they got from flogging players. We could have a more successful team spending less money by buying players solely based on what they could contribute to us. And then this model would require FSG to put more money after a little bit and it is not sustainable.
People on here say Rodgers wasted £300m and they actually think it is all down to Rodgers we wasted that much money. It was FSG's people who compiled a list of transfer targets for the manager based largely on their potential resale value so the initial transfer fee was likely to be very big for the quality of player we got. And also it was FSG who decided how much we would pay for a player. So when we overpaid for some of our players, FSG's people didn't think we were at the time.
It looks like were not relying on this transfer committee system as much now which is good because the manager will get players he wants and will have the option to pick up players with only say a year left on their contract for a cheap fee which would have otherwise not been on the committee's list.
