I think he is the best manager they could have got and a proven talent I think he will get some success whether it's a good long term appointment for the club though is questionable

He will be successful in the short term, but then players get sick of him, so Utd are hoping for a quick fix success and will appoint someone more long term once he's gone in 2-3 years.

The problem UTD have now is that there is so much competition, even if they chuck £200 million at it, City and Chelsea can do the same, so there is no guarantee of success.

I'm just glad they never got Pochettino, as he would have made a really good team to compete for years to come.

I think they are well aware it is doubtful as a long term appointment. It is about learning from our dreadful mistakes and stopping the rot.

Once it takes hold and the cycle is in it's very hard to buck as our shambolic last 20 years can attest to.

This is a very good shortish term appointment especially if he can catch the few newbies out next year whilst they are finding their feet. With 250 million awaiting for him to spend it looks ominous for the rest.

I just hope he has become that arrogant and self absorbed he can't hold it together for even a season but it's more than likely wishful thinking.

Mourinho has won everything everywhere whereas Pochettino still has everything to prove, so on paper at least Mourinho is way better that Pochettino.
