Liverpool over recent years have a history of over-paying for decent Premiership players from clubs like Southampton, none of them have proven to be good enough or worth the outlay. Why would Shane Long be any different? If you buy mid-table players we cannot moan about being a mid-table club, its very simple.

Whoever he wants I am happy to see him get...we had a history of singing low level mid level players and turning them into champions of europe - here's hoping klopp's history follows that.

There is no way Benteke, Lallana and Lovren are worth anywhere near what we paid for them. As for Benteke being worth his fee, this season has clearly proved that he wasn't worth it. I don't care about the selling club, I care about LFC constantly wasting money and making the same old mistakes every transfer window. Hopefully Klopp will put a stop to it once and for all.

If Klopp wants Long then fine, hopefully he'll turn out to be a great signing. I believe that if we want to challenge for the top positions in the Premiership then we need better, a lot better than someone whose best seasons goals tally is 10.
