Alberto is a very clever player
He needs a run of games before he can be rated the only problem is we have a million players in his position and they're all better than him 'a million players in his position' but only one player who is a cert imo where he is. not just to get the goal, but the fact sturridge had a good game helped firmino. the two outside positions still need improvement, lallana played great, and coutinho played good against villarreal as deep left and right mids. move lallana further up the pitch and he's not as effective offensively as coutinho, then as van gogh pointed out it's not completely a walk in the park for coutinho to make as much an impact as eriksen does. liverpool have got improvement to do in midfield

I can't see us play without Sturridge/Origi, Firmino and Coutinho in 3 of the 4 most advanced positions in a 4.2.3.1 formation though.
That means there is only one spot left for grabs for players like Markovic, Lallana, Ibe, Ojo and Ings.

Geez, with Klopp in charge he could become another Emre Chan. The lad has the skills, and with good management he could be a winner. If he is a goose, then he can be offloaded. Its a win-win.

These players give a deep squad but they need to perform when called upon like Kolo does when called up. Otherwise sell them. What we need is 60 mins of Coutinho at his best or Lallana at his best followed by 30 minutes of Markovic at his best. For what it is worth I thought Coutinho was average v Villareal but that was because they were on to him quickly. Good for us that Firmino stepped up and took on the role that Phil would normally have performed.
So whilst it is great to have these players we need them to perform when needed. Also there are only so many players we can have in a squad. Who makes way for these players?

I agree Götze, morata, tadic for the left? Sane, Mane (mane probably not enough quality) for the right? it's really hard to say at this stage. all we can do is try to establish facts, one being you could say reus has had a worse season than eriksen, so we should probably rule him out

Never has a player been less suited to Premiership football than Luis Alberto, I don't want to ever see him back at LFC, he was another complete waste of money.

I still think Markovich might have something about him, I'd give him another season, just to give him a fair and fighting chance. As for Alberto, I haven't seen enough of him to say one way or another, except to say he looked a bit on the light side, and we have our fair share of those already. However having said that, the image of Gordon Stracken, (spelling! sorry Gordon!) flashed into mind, as did that little feller from Itlay...what was his name? Suso? maybe not, anyway the small'uns can be brilliant and the big'uns a waste of space, so probably remiss of me to bring size into the equation...truth is I haven't a f*****g clue what to do about Alberto!

If anyone strives under Klopp, I think that it'll be Markovic. Let's face it, does anyone really remember a stand out player last season apart from maybe Coutinho and Sakho? Apart from that, they were all rubbish most of the time, so how was Markovic meant to be the stand out. Let's face it, Rodgers lost it last season, and didn't know what he was up to.
