Yesterday a team composed of players valued less than the cost of Benteke (not an attack on ben) won the PL. Leicester now have more PL's than liverpool. I was happy that they won it but at the same time i felt embarrassed and let down by whats been happening at liverpool over recent years. I watched the highlights of leicesters season and saw how every single player attacked and defended together. I saw players willing to put their bodies on the line for every single point that could be won.
Now it brings me to the point of liverpool football club. I started asking questions like , do we have players that will attack and defend for each other? Do we have players that are proud to wear the red jersey. Do we have players that are willing to give 100% and fight for every point. The answer is a simple "NO".
Liverpool is a team comprised of some small amounts of hard working individuals who love wearing the red shirt for example james milner. He turned down massive wages to come to liverpool where he couldve earned double or triple the amount and couldve been playing champions league football. HE WANTED to play for us. He is proud to put on that jersey and call himself a liverpool player.
I watched couthino (again not an attack on couthino) vs swansea. He did a fancy flick, lost the ball and didnt track back. Swansea scored from that. The fact he didnt even attempt to try win that ball back made me even more frustrated. That leicester player ulloa is by no means a world class player. He played against swansea and lost the ball numerous times and put his heart and soul into winning the ball back. It was in the stages of the 80th min and he had covered massive amounts of km's. I seen him be physically and emotionally hurt when he was losing the ball and didnt win it back. Another question now....How many liverpool players are like that? I bet we can count them all on one hand.
The mercenaries need to be shipped out. If they want to play gangster and 50 cent in their outside life thats their business but dont let it affect your ego and what you do for the team on the pitch. You all know the individuals im talking about. Clothing lines and music careers, would you please do me a favour and please F**k off. Your a liverpool football club player. You play for one of the biggest teams in the world with a fantastic atmosphere and fans. I get so annoyed when i see stuff like players selling custom hats, a few days after we have had a few bad results. Why arent they training and working hard to try and solve the problems on the pitch. Its so frustrating.
I want klopp to succeed at liverpool. I think he will. Theres no BS with him and he says it as it is. I hope the backroom and board members and players all get behind him with his decisions in the summer. I know this is a massive rant but does anyone else not feel let down by some areas of the club like players owners etc, that leicester have more PL titles than us?
The real question is do we have enough players who want to be liverpool players and want to work hard for the team the manager the fans etc? im going to leave this rant with a quote and want to hear your opinions on all of this. The quote is "For a player to be good enough to play for Liverpool, he must be prepared to run through a brick wall for me then come out fighting on the other side."- Bill Shankly. Do we have players like that in our team?

no you're right we don't have many extremely hard working players like james milner, but then leicester don't have That many either imo.
Scientifically they can only push their bodies so much, they have to use their energy over a full 90 minutes. that's why it's so important they work as hard as possible in training to complete as many sprints in a match as possible etc.
Let's take villarreal away, I think players like allen and lucas were running through a brick wall to play as well as they could.
If you are saying we don't have enough hard working players and we need to ship out everyone who doesn't show dramatic improvements in work rate from now until the end of the season then I'm worried, because if we sign any more than 4 or so first team players then it's going to be even more difficult to make this side get used to each other.

Quality players only need a few months to gel..
Shitte players will never gel with quality players i.e. Bye bye most of the squad in the summer

Don't forget Klopp has got an ego on him and I don't think he is a team player like Rodgers or Dalglish were.

Excellent post Ambitious and its pretty clear we can only muster a bit of passion and work rate on the odd and unexpected occasion. It was the same under Rodgers and iots the same under Klopp, except for one thing and thats the bit of high pressing, which as we've seen teams that move the ball quickly and wide can neuter at will. We need players of a higher calibre and technical ability who have guts and are prepared to fight together and for each other. Our defence is leaky our attack is mindless, rudderless and without direction. Our midfield is too easily pushed off the ball with the exception of Can, who still has much to learn. The stark unvarnished truth is we need a major rebuild. The question is will Klopp and FSG use the summer spending money on quality or will they go for the usual load of quantity and sign more trainee prospects?
