Hi all -it's my first time on here but I just had to say something. Is it just me or does Firmino give the ball away a lot? He just seems to be so careless at times and makes me feel so frustrated. I know he has his good moments and can score nice goals but should he have started the second half?

442 in itself is a hard formation for good passing success of a team, look at leicester. it also depends what formation/team you are facing that can effect pass success percent of that team.

As for looking at it simplistically, firmino loses the ball a lot - he also wins it back a lot, you put another player where he is, they will still lose it a lot. It's a team problem not just a firmino problem. firmino can't be that bad, he's been involved in almost every game in our last 2 runs either side of southampton -so we've been carrying a terrible player? I've heard it all.

to be fair nobody ever mentions coutihno. He loses the ball constantly and all he seems to do is shoot. If you are a naturally skillful player like he is and if you have 20 shots from outside the box, one of the is bound to go in.

He lost the ball 5 times in the 1st half. Twice villarreal nearly scored as a result of the counter attack. The other 2 times he had 2 players free in better positions that he couldve passed it too instead he goes for these spectacular passes.

Firmino was non existent tonight but so was coutihno and ibe.

Coutinho was sick. That's why he was subbed.

Sorry but I have no time for light weight attackers who fall over so easily and often and who have very poor shooting skills. Why do we have players like that in the team at all?

Coutinho can still be a bit hit and miss to be fair. Luckily he's been more hit this season though.
