Another day in the premiership and another day in the life of simon mignolet. Hes the only goalkeeper in the world that can make mistake after mistake and after another mistake that doesnt face any action against him.
I mean seriously how many times is this guy gonna be allowed f**k up? Im not jumping on a bandwagon against him but that mistake today was one of the worst ive seen, the ball wasnt even travelling that fast, it was more gliding. I really reckon he has cost us about 15+ points this season in all comps.
I would rather drop him play ward. Starting to think he is a worse keeper than James for us. I know it was a nothing game or an outside chance game for us at least but i kinda expected a bit more from the players. Thought Lallana and milner were good today. Think the 2 young players were poor with their decision making at times but that only comes with experience. I thought stewart was gonna do better because the last time i seen him he looked good but today he seemed to just pass the ball sideways.
Finally i think sturridge needs to learn to pass the ball or the team shouldnt pass it to him. He dived in their box for a penalty that wasnt a peno and they broke and nearly scored from it. The 2nd time he didnt pass the ball to firmino i think it was, he held onto it for too long was tackled. They broke from this and scored their 2nd goal if i remember correctly. You can see how the simple runs Origi does in games makes a massive difference. Pity he got injured i personally think he will be our no1 forward with probably another forward who we buy in the summer. Sorry about the long post was frustrated watching that today. I hate drawing or losing any game where i think there wasnt 100% effort. Its not acceptable by liverpool terms.
that's because he's up and down, good some weeks but you know he'll screw up again, like I think a former player was quoted in one of koptalk.com's articles. as for the 2nd goal it's still saveable, we need a keeper with better reflexes, we were looking at a few keepers with good reflexes from spain a while back I think, worth checking their progress perhaps.
yea I have said before he struggles to catch crosses/corners - as I also think other people have said, he doesn't have a petr cech sort of aerial presence, he's still a good stop stopper though.
I'm not going analyse or talk about the game in great detail, other than to say it's a great template for klopp. even if klopp is not going to use a 433 next season he needs players who can play in the setup and win. we need better passers, better players at keeping the ball, better pressers, better tacklers, more physicality - which will help us keep the ball, more creativity. we need to get better on the ball - we aren't bad, just need to get much better, even if we are being pressed like tottenham and dortmund did. ok some of our players like coutinho, can, sakho weren't playing but it could well have been the same result even if they had played, the corresponding fixtures should have ended 2-2 if our onside goal had stood at saint james's park, I believe a lot of those players were playing then.
