Strong reports are indicating we are interested in borussia mönchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud dahoud. would cost between 20-25m pounds, but is worth every single penny! 20 years old, born in syria but represents germany at youth level. would be a very good signing

he makes so little passes compared to how many other premiership midfielders make, only averaging 39.4 passes per game in the bundesliga compare that to henderson 57.3 passes per game in the PL. But Dahoud's passing success is higher in the league 83.8% compared to hendo 78.8% in the league. The key for me is how creative can they be, how much vision and ambition do they have in their passing, dahoud has attempted an average of 0.2 through balls in the CL, hendo 0.1 in the premiership, fabregas 0.5 in the pl, 0.6 in CL, and considerably more long balls than each other them, that's despite chelsea not having the best of seasons, cese has been a passing maestro. When/if we sign Dahoud we won't be signing the finished article as he's only 20, but we'll be signing a quality player, who will at the very least provide great backup for henderson, and should grow into a world class DM touchwood.
as for tackling, dahoud's right up there 2.3 tackles per match in the CL, 2.1 in the bundes, henderson 2.6 prem, 2.3 europa, fabresgas obviously ahead of them both. dahoud with slightly more dribbles than hendo, fabregas more than each.
even after and if we sign daboud we'll be missing a proper box to box midfielder, that's why I don't know if klopp will scrap looking for a DM, put Can at DM, and just sign a box to box mid.
People might annoyed with me for these comparisons, and say I'm a fan of moneyball, I'm not a fan of moneyball, but I definitely believe statistical evidence can help.
