Just two points separated Liverpool and Tottenham at the end of last season.
Both clubs had come close to domestic cup glory. Both clubs had fallen short in their quest for Champions League qualification, with Spurs leapfrogging the Reds on the final day to take fifth place.
When Liverpool drew 0-0 at White Hart Lane in Jurgen Klopp’s first game in charge last October, Spurs were only a point better off. But since then the two clubs have had little in common.
While Liverpool’s progress under Klopp has continued to be hampered by infuriating inconsistency, Tottenham have kicked on impressively.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men arrive at Anfield on Saturday as genuine Premier League title contenders. Their remarkable transformation has been overshadowed somewhat by Leicester City’s heroics but Spurs are just five points behind the Foxes with seven games remaining.
Tottenham, who haven’t been crowned champions since 1960/61, are a massive 17 points better off than ninth-placed Liverpool, who have two games in hand.
The question is how have the Londoners left the Reds behind? And what can Liverpool learn from Spurs’ resurgence?...

I think it's obvious what Liverpool can learn from spurs resurgence - quality and more consistency, partly done through player or two who we get most of our goals through - which we haven't had this season. ie a talisman, even though all of the sides currently in the top four haven't really found that much consistency they've still been able to score goals on a regular basis. we've gone into matches trying to score first and not been able to (or found difficulty in scoring/breaking teams down), basically we haven't taken the lead in as many matches as we've liked. and we've been punished a lot of times when we've tried to play this attacking football when our defence has been called upon it lets us down worse than other teams who are above us, arsenal and spurs namely.

I think he's providing great content even if it's not completely original, it's relevant. I believe he's also making a point that so many of these threads should be condensed into a 'thread for things that don't deserve their own thread' by posting several.

Spurs also linked to Dahoud today. Would be devastated if he went to them without us looking into it.
They're building a great young side are Spurs and Pochettino is obviously a very forward thinking manager that is relishing the challenge of making Spurs the force they've been wanting to be for years.
They've got a great spine right now, might need 1 more midfielder with Dembele getting older and then some tweaks out wide but it's a good young team that'll only get better.

our failing has been buying bulk players instead of three or 4 top class players to gel the rest to! hence our up and down form agree . wish we bought quality and not quantity
