Dont you think Mark Hughes wasn't really given the chance as he didn't fit the Arabs profile and idea of how they wanted City to be portrayed. He was only there a little over 12 months since the Arabs took over and he was doing quite well at the time, Mancini was always going to fit there profile better. I wouldn't of really included City as one of the big Clubs at the time as they were just starting ..

Splitting hairs? Are you serious? Under Rodgers we wouldn't have gone beyond the first round of the Europa league,we never did actually, that alone is a huge difference based on where we are right now. You are being as ridiculous as the stupid one SP, behave please.

not really fair to call other posters stupid who have done no more than express a view and naive in extreme for predicting what Rodgers would have or not have done in this seasons cups football is unpredictable were it not so then we would all be millionaires through betting on the results

It's not about predicting but what Rodgers did, he was always out of Europe after the first round. Also, who said I was talking about a poster?

yes I think stats can go both ways, he spent about 200 million on players since his arrival in 2008 however he only lasted just over 12 months with the Arab owners. City had never looked liked doing anything for years but when Hughes started spending the Arab money that season they had only lost two games all season, they had qualified for the League Cup semi final just before he was sacked there first for over 30 years and had beaten the League leaders Chelsea only prior to his departure, so some would say they were definitely going in the right direction, matter of opinion ofcorse. The main thing is back when Hughes was in charge City were not one of the big Clubs so the question remains how many British managers have been given the opportunity to manage one of the big Clubs besides David Moyes...

Gary Neville.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

So spangly, could you tell us what current or past English/British manager has been or is good enough to manage a top side?
