Yes i care about the cups but to say when you add klopps cup performance this season to the league he was better than rodgers is splitting hairs to a ridiclous degree I have faith in klopp but the fact is so far there has been only a small uplift if at all.

yes I see it that way too Stanley, hopefully Kloppsy will do well but up to now everyone seems to basing him on what he did with a different team, in a different league and in a different Country, I would go as far as to say there is more change of him failing to reproduce that record here than succeed given the history of past managers coming from other countries and succeeding...

Where he comes from won't be the defining factor in whether he succeeds or not Alf. It'll come down to only whether he's good enough.

Well Rafa's the best manager we've had in a long time and Houllier won a number of cups, so I'd say foreign managers have fared better lately.

It's not really worth debating at the moment. As you've said, 3 more transfer windows, we'll see where we're at.
Some improvements, strong personality & he's done it before. All worth giving the man time.
He certainly won't reproduce his record at Dortmund, but I have hope he'll get us challenging again.

i think it could well be a defining moment where he comes from, if he doesn't adapt, get up to speed with the English game or get to grips with the English football culture he will be back in Germany before you can say Frankfurter, so for that reason where he does come from will be an important factor...

Absolute bollox. If he's good enough he'll adapt as would any manager from any nation.

Just remind me how many English managers have won the league in the last ten years?

If they were good enough they'd get the chance. Same with players. Where they come from has nothing to do with it unless you have some Alf Garnett tendencies.

you wouldn't be tying to bait me there would you, you have mentioned Alf Garnett twice now in posts when replying to me, you are being monitored I must warn you.
I think where you do come from does pay an important part, players wise an English player will always cost you more so straight away that could stop a player from progressing and a manager not from this country has to acclimatise and might not get the time to familiarise himself with the English game so again where you come from does play a part in both players and managers...
