Bloody vile big C claims yet another youngster.
RIP fine bloke. Indeed. Has anyone checked on David Attenborough? No why? What's going on? Nothing, it was tongue in cheek - quite a few famous people seem to be dieing of it recently. Attenborough would be too much.

Cruyff was the best. Better than (leftie) Messi. Watch his vids on you tube. The balance, acceleration, first touch, equally skilled with both feet, his ability to anticipate an opponents moves,....just magical.

Messi or Pele it might be argued were a bit more physically gifted, but Cruyff's intellect was a true one off. What a genius. The world is still reeling from his revolutionary ideas. No player completely changed the way the game was played the way that he did.
He built barca. Without him, Guardiola or Messi as we know them would not have happened.

Completely agree in that era the Dutch invented total football which was anyone could play anywhere in the day players had strictly defined positions that broke that mould today players do have much wider responsibilities than of old and the game is more entertaining as a result of it cruyff is largely responsible for that a great man
