I read a comment from a newspaper article and it go me thinking: why hasn't Danny Ward played a single minute for us when he was recalled from his loan spell at Aberdeen 2 months ago? From what I heard, both club and player were doing very well. Why would Klopp recall Ward if Mignolet is going to play every game? Surely he could put up with using Bogdan for half a match if Mignolet got injured for the sake of Ward's season of first team football?
I think there are other players as well that have been recalled just for them to be sitting in the U21 squad and not playing first team football.

Klopp wants to study and assess everyone from the first team to the U21s, under 18s etc and hence has recalled everyone that was loaned under the previous manager. This summer window coming up is massive and Klopp doesn't want to spend silly money on a player that we may already possess.

On top of that I'd add that there were quite a few injuries in the squad at one point, and we looked really thin in some areas.
That's why for example Ilori was recalled.

questioned the recall at the time, very strange.
if he's not getting the chance now, he never will imo and klopp will most certainly look for replacement in summer

Was recalled when Mig was having a shocker. But Mig always manages to bounce back. On a good day, he is one of the best... just fond of a clanger every now and then
