Slightly unfair to say it's Divock's fault he isn't getting many chances, I do believe you have a slight point, against spurs in klopp's first match he hardly had anything to go at either. But I wouldn't prove the point by using benteke as an example, as it's not the best example, due to palace tiring at the end of the game, and one of benteke's chances coming from a set piece, so that's down to the delivery as much as positioning.

I agree though, I don't think Origi is going to be liverpool's main striker in future, as I don't think he'll progress quickly enough, hence I tried to name volland, as he would grow quicker and hopefully make an impact we desperately need to rejuvenate our strike.

He can't be relied upon yet because he doesn't score enough and his link up play isn't the best.

May seem harsh but he's young so he should improve.

Yeah I'd agree as I'm far from convinced about Origi from what I've seen to date. However he's young and first season and all that, but there's a big step up needed, and we all know the trouble with that. So time will tell. In the meantime I'd be looking out for a top class hit man.

Could this be because he's reportedly a committee signing and not a Brendan signing?

Even though Ings is good at dribbling with close control, I think origi is more of a striker who likes to get the ball out his feet, Ings likes to take balls out of the air, volleying etc bit of a robbie keane.

Lots of players 'almost' score. Strikers are supposed to 'actually' score though. I think he'll be our Wellback - pretty useless overall but will chip in with a few goals every now and then.

As good as Sturridge is, we need another top striker this summer. No one else gives me the confidence that they can be relied upon, for one reason or another:

Benteke: lazy/abysmal finishing
Ings: coming back from long term injury
Balotelli: lol
Origi: see comments above

I think Benteke will be sacrificed for a top striker. It's not worked out for him and doesn't look likely to either.

Technically lacking. Not a predator. Not good enough I am afraid.

I was only saying that to try to explain that I don't see how origi can try any harder

As for lots of players almost score, of course they do. But you need to take into consideration our top scorers are on 8 and 8 in all competitions, or 8 and 7 in the league however you like it. I don't think he'll be useless he's been a good impact sub twice this season, but I see where you are coming from though, where is his place in the team and can he hold it down, similarly as welbeck can't with consistency.

It will be interesting to see how origi and benteke keep doing in an belgium shirt in the next 4 years nonetheless.

He just seems very raw and doesn't seem that instinctive. It's like he's got the attributes to be a top player but doesn't know how to use them.

No it's because under FSG we rarely buy ready-made players. They seem to need 2 or 3 seasons to bed in if they bed in at all.

I'd run with that, but even sturridge has been quiet in some games like augsburg away for instance, so we have to cut him some slack.

not enough key passes made by the team, we got milner averaging at 2 per match, firmino at 1.8 I think, and no surprise that they are have the most assists for us with seven each
