I did not rate him at all at first but quietly behind the headlines progress is definitely taking place we might be seeing a future player here he seems to be taking to Klopp,s style as well.

We wait and see but happy to be proved wrong in this case looking forward to seeing how Danny ings comes back too assuming he gets back to what he was post injury

Yeah Origi is coming along nicely.
If he can keep progressing at a steady rate we'll have quite a decent striker on our hands in a season or two.

Danny Ings though..
Was absolutely gutted when he got injured - he looks like he could go on to be a top talent in the game: Skilfull, good finisher, good football brain and good work rate (this all being said as a player still coming through)

It sounds funny but Ings injury could almost have been a blessing for us.... he looks like he is a "Klopp" type of player and will always get a run - but with him being away from the squad it's given us a chance to have a look a Origi - when we'd all pretty much written him off already.

Sturridge, Ings, Origi, Beneteke. Looks good to me.

(We've also still got Balo too! whistle)

That's why I'm a bit miffed by the criticism from koptalkers of Origi in his last match. He almost got to the front post to get on the scoresheet, I think he's a lively forward, bit of an all rounder.

Even though Ings is good at dribbling with close control, I think origi is more of a striker who likes to get the ball out his feet, Ings likes to take balls out of the air, volleying etc bit of a robbie keane.

Which is good as we have a variety of options I think we need to get rid of Benteke and get a top class striker in (we can't rely on Sturridge) then I think we could be strong up top next season just midfield defence and goalkeeper to sort now

So we only need to fix the keeper problem, defence, midfield and add a top class striker and we'll be sorted??? If you didn't laugh, you'd surely cry! laugh

I'm not against variety, I actually think it's a good idea to have different types of strikers who can give you different options, but you have to have a general approach which works. I'm just not down with the unpredictable b0llocks that was claimed at the start of the season, going long with your keeper to the forward all the time like a side looking to bypass the other teams midfield isn't unpredictable, varying your attacking styles sometimes with aerial attacks, sometimes with long shots, sometimes with passing combinations, and going long not All the time is more effectively unpredictable. We also have to be more unpredictable with our movement if we want to increase the success of those things working, and players have to become kinesthetic to learn when their team mates are going to make this manoeuvre.

I too believe we need another top class striker (though I still believe danny can still reproduce magic) or someone who we could make into that mould, kevin volland has slightly tailed off for hoffenheim scored against augsburg in a 2-1 win for them the match before last. I just wonder if he'll ever make a move away and if people are right in thinking he can be a future big talent, the 23 year old certainly has a lot of potential.

I'm unconvinced about Origi. He's not a natural striker and he has lot of things to work on his game.

He doesn't get enough chances in a match and I think that's down to him rather than the team. As soon Benteke came on against Palace he had 2 or 3 chances straight away in and around the box. Origi had one half chance at the near post the in whole game.

He can't be relied upon yet because he doesn't score enough and his link up play isn't the best.

May seem harsh but he's young so he should improve.
