dont you think you are getting confused between best and greatest, think I have said before Gerrard was second best I have seen behind John Barnes but probably not in my top ten of greatest.
You mention Gerrard has played at the same level for just as long well how can that be when Lampard played in more European Cup semi Finals, the same amount of Finals where they both played two and won and lost one and Gerrard only played in one solitary league campagn where he challenged for the League while Lampard challenged and won in three and I won't count any of the UEFA or Domestic Cups as they are not majors.

Has Gerrard played in the same competitions as Lampard and Rooney and got to the same stage in those? I'll answer as you'll dodge it, yes.

And answer my question about what attribute he didn't have.

Exactly. For me world class is about ability not what you've won. You can have world class ability and win fukk all. You can just be good and win lots like you Anderson example.

but Lampard and Rooney have got to further stages in the highest level and what's more been more successful in doing it than Gerrard so how can you put him on the same level footing when get has done it only once. So going on your logic your putting Andy Murray on the same level as Roger Federer as Murray won Wimbledon once.

Isn't football a team game as opposed to tennis?

A football player's performance on the pitch might reflect the performance level of the team, or it might not.

In tennis you can't win if you aren't performing - unless you have extreme luck.

What's so hard to understand?

but don't you think what you win defines you, can you name a true world class player that's never won a major trophy...

A good analogy concerning performing on the biggest stage can be taken from horse racing. Often, you hear journalists discussing ride of the week,or month, and bringing attention performance on gaff tracks like Newton Abbott or Plumpton and saying they don't get the credit they deserve. However, they are not in the pressure cooker at these venues and can't be put on par with a performance at one of the Festivals.
And on the ATP Tennis tour, as good as for example a tournament such as Monte Carlo may be, they ain't under the pressure as they would be in the best of five setter majors.

yes good points there are massive differences in players that can put in a performance when it really matters under intense pressure and those who are still fantastic players but cant or haven't done it enough. The biggest game Gerrard played was the Champions League yes he did well the second half after a disasterous performance first half but he only managed to demonstrate his ability once, who knows he might of been lucky, we will never know if he could do it again and here lies a big difference Xavi or Inniesta for instance have demonstrated there ability in big games on five or six occasions so how can you put a player who did it once on a level the same, impossible, Suarez flopped in his biggest games for Liverpool even in the papers his rating was average at best in those games and the biggest games Owen played was the UEFA and F.A Cup final oh and Basel in the Group stages of the champions League so again this isn't the highest level either not when you look at Shevchenko or Raul...

Suarez was was class with us even before going to Barca, Gerrard was world class for a few seasons, especially the one we won the CL, Keegan was world class, Torres as well, Dlaglish of course

Barnes too

Wrong again. By my reckoning, they've all been to two finals and all won one. Gerrard also did it in a much worse team than the other two and also scored. So again you're wrong and your tennis example is pretty poor.

Oh and you still haven't told me one attribute that Gerard didn't have.
