i think Le Tiisier and Gerrard are both similar in some ways, both fantastic players ability wise, both played for clubs that were not world class so never provided them with the platform to be world clas, both big fish in little ponds and both should of left the game with more than they should of medals wise, both have been accused of liking the comforts of home and lacking ambition,

i have no doubt Susrez will go on to become world class at Barcelona but that's why I said the last world class player playing for Liverpool...

If you win the golden boot in the PL, and you think about the sorts of calibre of player who have won the golden boot, how can you not say Suarez is a world class talent?

Shame vardy is gonna win the golden boot this year though, puts a dampener on it. LOL lukaku behind him! says it all!

I know it is hard for you to understand though most here agree that Suarez was world class at LFC

spot on. If you can make it in the premier league you can normally make it anywhere in the modern game.

yes but there are differences in levels within the Premier League for instance if you look at Aguero and his goals, every one is under pressure because he carries the weight of being the best striker in the league for the last 5 or so seasons, his goals have a direct effect on the outcome of the premier league title and he is under more scrutiny and pressure to net every time he walks into the pitch. Now you look at Vardy, Lakaku and Suarez when at Liverpool, all playing for mid table or in Vardys case a poor team, nowhere near as much pressure to score and succeed, biggest games Suarez and Lakaku play are probably at Old Traffird, Emirates or the Derby so when you compare the pressure on Aguero it's completely different. Also if you look st Suarez I would say his four biggest games he played in for us where the league cup final against Cardiff were he flopped, cup final against Chelsea again a no show and the two important league games against City and Chelsea when we finished second and again the man never performed, just my views on it anywsy...

I know what you are saying, interesting point of view. Yes pressure can affect players, expectation, if we take the south africa world cup of 2010, a lot of the big stars didn't turn up. ronaldo did, but he can't be the only world class player in the world surely?

I think it's fairly stingy to judge players individually in so called big games, it is a team game afterall.

dont you think it's big games and pressure and how players perform in them define them, in any sport for that matter, remember Brazilian Ronaldo in France 98 he was the star of the tournament and then buckled in the defining game which was the final and at the same time Zidane stood up and was counted, this at the time showed the difference...

There is pressure in every game, that was a career defining moment for zidane not ronaldo, that doesn't mean brazil's ron is not a world class forward. Like I said it's stingy/ungenerous to think otherwise, maybe you're right then, the term world class is banded around too much for too many players.

i think the Brazilian Ronaldo did later on become world class, he demonstrated it in the World Cup final in Japan where he scored, my point is at the time he wasn't ready to become world class because he couldn't handle the pressure and for whatever reason he failed to deliver. A world class player answers all questions and ticks all boxes, think of Pele, Maradonna, Cryuff, Beckanbaur, Figo, Zidane e.t.c. They all demonstrated and delivered on the big stage on more than one time, which proved it wasn't a one off and that they truly belonged at that level. Going back to Suarez, Liverpool never played in big career defining games even tho that wasn't his fault it's still a fact and another one was our four biggest games he never showed up. Since then however Suarez has delivered for Barcelona in winning the league and scoring and winning the champions league, he is growing into the world class player many thought he would become at Liverpool, but while he was here there is no way he was world class...
