As per the topic he did a great job there . With our current state of central defenders this could be an option till the end of the season ?

Lol he's going to be like Mascherano for Barca then, midfielder who plays at centre back. To be honest, it's not a bad option, lucas can tackle, not sure about heading though. He was better than Ilori, who should of been awarded a penalty against him.

I thought what he did last night that impressed me, was the ability to be a leader at the back. He was shouting players to get into formation etc.

We don't get that with all our other CB'S

Very true, how did the referee and linesman miss that? Thought the referee had a poor game for both sides if I'm honest, some very strange decisions.

his aerial ability will be a concern. did everything other than sharing the blame with ben for costing us the game.

i have doubts over his consistency though

Perhaps thought he went down too easily, but I think as a player you want to make it obvious to the officials if someone is trying to cheat. Maybe, but I think a fair result if the match had ended in normal time, not for extra time we were on top.

Lucas best position for the team now is playing CB

Pick anyone of the CB to play alongside him ...no problem


Lucas playing CB will give the defence some organisation , stability and Lucas reading of the game as a CB..is nearly 1st class....


I mentioned Lucas playing CB weeks ago and certain Pple on here thought I was smoking too much off the herbal stuff

We moan about putting square pegs in round holes then want it doing?? I didn't see the game last night so can't comment on how good he was but a midfielder is best played in midfield and a CB at CB. What next? Caulker as a striker?

hasnt he played more minutes as a striker than a CB anyways ? :P

I just think we have no leaders at the back and Lucas is a leader and that we need. Then you can put anyone next to him.
