I agree with the "we're not actually that bad" crowd.
A few solid players (let's say 3 or 4) could make a world of difference.
I'd keep Lallana as a squad player as I think he's alright to fill in over a season. I'd get rid of Hendo now that he's crocked with that permanent heel problem, cut my losses on Benteke & Sturridge as one can't play and the other one wont... Kolo will move on in the summer as will Enrique and then there's the Lucas question that rears it's ugly head on cue every year.... I'd move him on if someone decent could be coerced into joining us, but he could remain another year by default.
Just by offloading (for instance) those players above, it would free up places in the squad for some quality to come in (CB, DM, CM, ST) and push the current players for a place in the team. We also have a few to come back from injury who looked promising early on.
The rest of the squad can be worked with, with the right steel to slot in amongst them. One thing that seems to have passed everyone by is that it's a tournament summer - which if history is anything to go by these are notoriously the worst summers for getting business done as players almost never move before the tournaments end (then we have to deal with higher fees and possible targets being injured)
If you don't focus on the positives this season, you'll drive yourself 'round the bleedin' bend. Some of the posts in here are absolutely shocking.
