ShareLiverpool seems to be optimistic about the future and they believe they're closer than ever to buy a stake at the club. This was said in an e-mail sent to members this evening:


"We have begun a series of informal conversations and confidential meetings with club officials; with Barclays Capital and investment bankers. We cannot conduct this process ‘in public’ but need to engage with key players and prove our ability to maintain confidentiality. We feel very positive about the situation going forward. The prospect of acquiring some significant fan equity in the Club appears to be sharper and more encouraging than ever before."

"We may very shortly reach the point where we can table a bid."

Should this email have made its way onto a public website then??

Won't that harm their chances?

members in sweden and norway has received the e-mail, that's where i read it.

i guess it will be published on the shareliverpool site a bit later...

don't think it will harm their chances. it's said in the e-mail they won't go into details but they want to make the members aware that the situation looks much brighter now...

i am just not sure fan ownership works in this country

it is working well in the lower leagues cj - i would be very much in favour of it personally

i just dont it can work at top due to the money needed, plus Barcelona is also government funded

i thought barca were funded by the club members paying something like £1000 per year for membership?

nope not all of it the local council chips in as well
