Remember when Pepe was between the sticks, we used to launch very swift counter attacks via his accurate long throws from our box? It often resulted in goals on the other end.

Perhaps we should bring it back.

There's a lot we could do with bringing back. We just have to wait for Klopp to get his own team and we'll see a massive improvement.

pepe also used to punt it long to robbie keane from goal kicks, we got rid of playing that way when we got rid of the irishman.

Robbie Keane was barely at Liverpool for 6 months and was left on the bench a lot before going back to Tottenham so I don't think our tactics ever revolved around him.

Would need the right players up top to take advantage. I presume it worked when we had Torres playing up top. It would also work a treat with Suarez and Sturridge perhaps. would it work with Ben & Balo?

That's not what the arsenal fans seemed to think when they were singing about reina kicking it long to robbie. I'm just trying to point out we shouldn't try to emulate or replicate things that didn't bring us any majors.

If liverpool used the goalkeeper to quick counter, it would become too predictable and the other team would just counter the counter. Makes for more of an open match just not something we should be asking of the GK, when it would probably even itself out in goals scored and conceded.

You underestimate the value of world class distribution from a keeper..just ask my former teammates how many goals it leads to.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

No pace in the team for quick counters. No pace and little width. If you are goin to counter you need pace up the field in wid area's. Only 1 player in our entire squad capable of doing that and it's Ibe who is also injured. Benteke is not really a striker who will hurt players on the counter attack either. To play a counter attackin style would require signing 2 quick wide men and a more mobile striker.
