I actually thought he played pretty well. His finishing (or lack there of) is maddening, but he was our main threat most of the night, and he created chances. No one is mad at Phil for missing the goal Ben laid on a plate for him.
He just needs a run of games. There's a really good player in there.

We know there is a really good player in there, any striker who can score such a convincing bicycle kick vs man utd at old trafford can't be that bad. He's got to really want it though. This is a guy who played in the same team with a young kevin de bruyne and still looked slow. It was impressive how he got on end of 2 or so corners, we need to see him attacking that final third more.
Since it's looking unlikely we'll get top four klopp can experiment with the team more I hope, I really want danny.s to help him improve, I want to see them both in a 442 diamond before the season ends, or I really don't know how klopp is going to fit them both in the same side.

I don't think he was playing like he didn't want it, at least not in this game. He seemed full of desire. Just unconfident and wasteful.

I think carra made the point a few weeks back, he's better when he doesn't have to think about the finish or what he's doing, it's just instinct.

All these excuses that he doesn't get the right service. Or we aren't playing to his strengths really annoy me.
Lucas was playing in defence. He did very well. Never played there before. Can played left back. Righ back. Centre back. Firminio is playing a striker role.
He is a striker ( and not a very good one) He has had a ton of chances and missed those chances. I've never known a striker to miss so many one on ones.
But he's missed headers. And volleys and tap ins and open goals (Leicester)
He is utter garbage. He does not belong at a club hoping to be better than mid table

As garbage as he's been at times, he's still our leading scorer. He has tools and he has finishing ability. The penny will drop for him eventually.
